On the system tray by the time is there a speaker with a red line through it? If so right click on this and open volume control and make sure no mutes are checked in the controls that come up.

next if that doesn't apply, click on start, right click on my computer, left click on properties, select hardware tab, select device manager, under audio devices are there any exclamation points or is there a question mark for unknown audio devices?

How do I turn up volume on HP computer?

If I understand correctly, you had a tech assisting you earlier and he turned off the sound and now you want to turn it back on - is that right?
Check in the lower right corner of your monitor for the speaker icon. If you see a red circle with a line over the speaker it means the tech just muted the sound. Click on the Speaker icon and open the volume control - you will be see the Mute option and just click on it.

If it is more, and I misunderstood your initial description, please respond with the model of your computer, the operating system and what the tech was called in for in the first place.

Installed lynex on my compaq presario sr2010nx and i cant get the sound to work

Make sure the audio drivers are in the device manager. Make sure the volume is turned up and not muted. Look at the Audio/Sound properties in the Control Panel and make sure they are not muted and the volume is up. Make sure you have the speakers plugged into the light green port on the computer and that the speakers are on and the volume is turned up.

I have a Compaq Presario SR1000 on XP and the grafics are bad, plus no sound

Hi knightmichea...

If your graphics card and sound card is faulty on your motherboard then replace them with one off the shelf and use the pci slots to put it in on your computer.

Sound problem:
Look for the speaker icon on your desktop in the right bottom portion of the sceen.
Also when you find it, RIGHT click on it, you will have two choices to make, choose and check each one of the choices to make sure that NONE of the boxes on each
choice has a checkmark in Mute,if there is a check mark then uncheck it.
NOTE:In "Open Volume control: you will find slider to adjust for volume,Wave,CD Player, etc.
After that is down, then LEFT click on the speaker icon and make sure that the slider is all the way to the top and that the Mute does not have a check mark,if it does remove the check.
If that does not work the re-install the audio driver for your computer.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

No sound hp pavilion a1630n how to solve this problem

Hi there,
Dealing with no sound problem, first thing you can check is the Physical hardware/Speakers, Make sure speaker volume is ok or if its properly connected, if all is properly configure proceed to next step
2 .Make sure that the Volume control is not on Mute, look at the lower side of the screen you will see there a small speaker icon, Make Sure that it dont have (x)mark on it. if you dont have the icon:
Check Device Manager: Right Click My Computer>Manage>Device Manager

Look for Sound, Video and Game Controllers make sure none of the list got (x) or (!)

if it has (x) on it right click the driver and select enable
if it has (!) download the Audio driver HERE ..
Installing Audio Driver normally fix any software related sound issues.

of course there is ...if the system runs a viable operating system and I assume it is windows Xp...all you need is a web cam with a microphone on it ...or a simple web cam and a headset (mic +earphones)..and the skype program that is available on the internet for free downloading ...
install the camera ..and the microphone ..(pink in ) if the sound is not on ..just check on volume manager to see if it is checked there and not muted...
thats all you need for a video call with sound and image on skype or any other instant messaging program ...msn...yahoo messenger or all...

Hi I Have a V2 Premier Computer And We Just Recently Got it Fixed But We've Lost our sound. Each time i try and acess our Sound thing It Says no Audio! I Highly doubt our computer is on mute! May I please...

I am guessing "Sound thing" is the volume control in the system tray (lower right corner).

If it is saying "No audio mixer" or "No audio device selected" then either one or two possibilities come to mind.

1. The shop that fixed your computer did not install the sound card properly (or left it out).

2. The sound drivers have not been installed or got corrupted.

To see if it is the first one or the second one, we need to get to Device Manager.
For XP, right click My Computer and select properties and click the hardware tab.
For Vista go to Control panel and click the System icon.

Click the button called Device Manager and see if there is anything with a yellow highlighted exclamation point. It likely will say something about unknown hardware or device. There might even be a name on the device that is a clue that it is a sound card.

If you do not see anything like that and there is no device in the category for Sound Video and Game controllers, option one is your choice. Take it back to the shop.

If you do see something that indicates it needs a driver visit the support webpage for your computer. Here is the URL: http://www.v2premier.com/techsupport/downloads.shtml
Select your model and choose sound to search for the driver.

Once you have a speaker icon in the system tray, if you still have sound problems trouble shoot the speakers.

Make sure the speakers have electric power connected and the power light is on for at least

one speaker. Make sure the volume on the speaker control is at least half way up.

Make sure your volume in Windows is at least halfway up and not muted.

Unplug the speaker jack and re-plug it firmly into the hole you just removed it from. Test

for sound.

If no sound, unplug and try another hole of the same size on the back of the computer and

test for sound. Continue testing until you have tried every hole the jack will fit into. One of

them will very likely work.

How do I turn on the speakers on my HP lap top?

There are buttons near the screen that should do this. Or it might be that your sound card is muted in which case click on the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner and when the volume control comes up click on the mute button to activate them. hope this helps
