This could be down to ur laser in ur cd-drive.. Could be many of things like Disc data corrupted etc etc. Sometimes if this happens i use a cd cleaner disc tht cleans the laser. These are very cheap.. But down to last resourt... Buy another version of the game. But if tht dosnt work then its your cd drive.

I put the disc in and click try again it still say please insert disk. My system is Windows XP SP3.

The current link for the fix is available from Focus Multimedia Limited. www.focusmm.co.uk/public/updates/lego/chess/chessfix.exe. Download this patch and install it. You need to be logged in as administator to install it. From then on you don't need the disk, however, I found that the introductory animation is missing, it goes straight to the page where you insert the name of the player. All animations work in the main game, but with the storybook game, I seem to remember it had animations when you went from one location to another when winning games, these also are missing. Mine played perfectly in my old xp computer, new xp computer wouldn't recognize the disk. Now fixed with the patch with the above limitations. Anyway, all other links for the fix were dead, this one works. Contact Multimedia by email if you have any problems, that is what I did. Their email address...welcome@focusmm.co.uk. Good luck to all LEGO CHESS fans.

2. When it's installed, right click on the LEGO Star Wars icon.

3. Click Properties.

4. Click the Compatibility tab.

5. Tick the box saying Run this program in compatibility mode for...

6. Click the drop-down menu under the sentence and click Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

7. Click Apply then OK.

8. Right click on the LEGO Star Wars icon again and click Run as an administrator.

NOTE: If you are using a Standard User Account, then you will need an administrator's password to play. After the password has been put in, the game should start after a few seconds.

Hope this Helped!

My Kodak Picture CD will not auto load

If your computer is operating with WINDOWS 95, WINDOWS 98, or WINDOWS NT 4.0 Systems, this CD contains software that automatically launches when you insert the CD. Getting Started:
Insert your Picture CD disc and wait for the software to load (it could take as long as 5 minutes, depending on your machine configuration, CD drive speed, and the number of images on the Picture CD).
Note: This loading process installs some Picture CD program files onto your hard drive. The KODAK Picture CD installer walks you through the steps. The final step may be to restart your computer. If so, be sure to restart to complete the installation.
After your computer has rebooted:
  1. Eject the Picture CD and re-insert it into the CD drive.
    The program should launch automatically.
  2. Click the magazine cover to turn to the Contents Page.
  3. Follow the links to read and do more with your digital photos.
If nothing happens after waiting for the Auto Play, you may need to manually start the Auto Play program. (Auto Play is a program that starts up the CD installation process the first time you use the CD.)
To manually start Auto Play:
  1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
  3. Click the Device Manager tab.
  4. Click the CD-ROM drive icon; click the "+" to view the CD-ROM drive information.
  5. Double-click the CD-ROM driver icon.
  6. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
  7. Click Settings.
  8. Check Auto insert notification and click OK.
Note: This enables all CDs to automatically run any Auto Play software.

Games installation

look for the crack file containing on your cd disc1 (if it has cd disc2). copy it and overwrite to the folder of the game located at the program files. click the icon game on your desktop and it should be working.

if still didnt work and it has no crack file then you should have a virtual drive. does the game playable whenever a cd is inserted? install a DAEMON TOOLS or ALCOHOL 120% on your computer.

ask me you need a help and pls dont forget to rate my solution. thanks!

cheers

Lego Island

Older programs will sometimes not work with Vista. This is likely the reason that Lego Island 2 (a 2001 game) will work a opposed to Lego Island (a 1997 game). There are a few things that you can try, though:
  1. Right click the 'play game' icon and select 'Properties'
  2. Click the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the window
  3. Click the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' box and select Windows XP or Windows 98/Window ME (you can try another later if one doesn't work)
  4. Make sure that the 'Run this program as an administrator' box is selected.
  5. Click 'OK' and close the window
Give the icon the good ol' double click and see if she works. There's no guarantees that this will work with Vista since it is an older program, but this is where I would start.

I hope this helps!

Reads all but DVD-Help PLEASE

When you say it won?t read are you trying to play commercial DVD movies or read DVD data disks? If you're trying to play movies then you need a couple of things the first being some type of player program. Real player works as does Windows media player but usually DVD drives come with a striped down version of PowerDVD or WinDVD. If you in fact have a player installed and when a DVD is inserted in your drive it doesn't play it may not be configured to automatically play DVDs. Try opening your player program and trying to manually play your DVD. Let us know if you have any success or if you need more assisted. If you do let us know what player program and operating system you have and any error messages that may appear.
