Where's the oil plug located on the Toro z5000?

I own a commercial Toro Z5000 with a 54" deck, and a 27hp Kohler. I want to change the oil, but can't find the drain plug. Can someone help me?

SOURCE: need manual to see what size bolt is that holds on

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly,

It appears your model number is 74370 There are 3 bolts one for each blade and the part number is 26-0671 or 260671 for the blade mount.

Part look up:
then enter part number 260671 $6.31 ea.

You can not use just any bolt for this. They are hardened bolts with an NF thread. If you use a non hardened bolt the blade will fly off when the bolt shears.

This bolt is available at most all Lawn Mower Parts Supply sources. Toro uses the same bolt on most all of their mowers.

If you do not have a Lawnmower Parts Supply near by, you might be able to go to an Autoparts supply source with yet one of the other blade bolts in hand and have them match the markings on the bolt head with yours so that you have the exact replacement bolt.

Any other parts for your mower can be found here:

Use the Search model window. each line below is a drop down window
74370 <- there are numerous models up to 74704
enter your model number if different.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Where is oil drain plug for toro gts5 6.0 mower

The oil drain is under the mower deck. You will have to tip it up, find a pan or put it on blocks, and remove the plug.

Will a 22hp Kohler engine replace broken 27hp Kohler engine on riding mower with 54"cutting deck, without any problems. The 22hp is on L series J. Deere and The 27hp is on G100 with the larger deck??

I don't think it will easily interchange. Of course you can always adapt anything, however don't think this is a good idea. Not with a 54 inch cut. Kohlers are usually easy to repair and overhaul. I would try to replace with same engine.

How do I change the oil on my Toro Personal Pace mower? Do I need to remove some cover?

The oil drain plug should be under the deck. You probably have a bracket in the way that you need to remove. Once you remove the bracket you should be able to access the drain plug. Piece of advice do not cross thread the drain plug and do not over tighten it. You should only turn the drain plug 1/2 a wrench turn above finger tight.

im no expert but had a similar problem with an old craftsman mower. the belt keeper which is an L shaped piece of hardware located at the back of the deck next to the idler pulley spindal. Also could be the deck is cockeyed and needs to be leveled or the wrong v-belt.

Where do I have access to drain oil from my TORO GTS2 lawnmower?

There are two ways to drain the oil. One is to tilt the lawnmower and drain the oil from the oil fill which is really a pain in the ****. The other is easy; here is what you do. First, disconnect the spark plug to ensure the mower cannot start (I don't have to tell you what effect a turning mower blade can have on human digits), and raise the mower up; you can use an ATV jack or you can get someone to help you set it on saw horses or you can simply raise the front by pushing the handle to the ground. On the bottom of the deck you will see a drain plug, you can't miss it, it's a square can use a socket extension and wrench to pull it...make sure you have a receptacle to catch the old oil before you remove that plug, you don't want oil all over your garage floor (ask me how I know that! lol). Once the oil is drained completely, meaning there is nothing but drops coming out, clean the drain plug and re-install it. Now you can lower you rmower and fill the crankcase with fresh oil!
