Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC

1 Answer

Office 2003 Install failure on new computer.

I got a new computer with (I didn't know this) an office 2007 demo pre-loaded. I was installing my applications - which include office 2003 pro & visio pro 2003. Now my applications keep crashing and telling me the versions of office don't match. I tried a repair install of 2003, no good. I tried to remove 2007, not happening.

Any suggestions, or is it time to format and reinstall.

I am not really sure, but I think that 2003 and 2007 use the same file names and some files may have gotton overwritten when you installed, so the app gets this file that is too advanced for the version or not advanced enough. Hope that helps.

My advice, uninstall both programs and ONLY INSTALL 1 version (2003 OR 2007)

:-) Good Luck

I just bought a new desktop that has office starter on it. I have office 2007 that i want to load but it is an "update" version. Will this recognize office starter as a registered microsoft...

Microsoft Office Starter is a new product launched by Microsoft that comes only in a version that is pre-installed on certain computers. There are no genuine licensed CD, DVD or download versions of this product. It should therefore actually be Microsoft Office Starter 2010 that you have pre-installed on your computer.

So the simple answer to your question is no. An Office 2007 Update will have no effect on an Office 2010 application. Also, an Office 2007 Upgrade application will probably not install anything at all on your computer unless of course you have genuine licensed versions of Office 2000 or Office 2003 already installed on it that are capable of being upgraded.

Microsoft Office Starter 2010 has a perpetual license (never expires), so it is not immediately obvious why you would feel the need to upgrade it, unless there is a particular Microsoft Office function that you need which is not included in Starter.

Office Starter replaces the various Trial versions of Office that used to come pre-installed on some computers. Office Starter is a reduced functionality version of Office including basic versions of Word and Excel. Neither PowerPoint nor Outlook are available in the Starter format. Word and Excel Starter can be used as they are for an indefinite period of time or can be unlocked to the functionality of various full versions of Office by buying and downloading an activation code from Microsoft. Starter can be used to open any Microsoft Word or Excel documents or spreadsheets and can also be used to perform basic editing of such documents and spreadsheets (a number of sophisticated tools and functions do not feature in Starter and are available only in the full versions of Microsoft Office).

If you do not want or cannot afford to upgrade Starter to a full-function version of Microsoft Office 2010, then a free full-function Office suite application called Open Office is available that is of similar quality to Microsoft Office and can also be used to open edit and manage Microsoft Office documents spreadsheets and databases. Open Office is available to download install and use totally free of charge (like other Open Source applications) from:

Word keeps askin me for a probuct key what do i do

Give it the key, if you have one. If you purchased the product, the key will be on the package. On the other hand, if you are using the time-limited demo version that came pre-loaded on many computers or you could download from Microsoft, you need to purchase a key to keep using it after the demo period is up. You can't buy keys for Office 2007 from Microsoft now since they want you to buy the 2010 version, but you can find vendors online who still have Office 2007 available.

A second option is to download and install OpenOffice. OpenOffice is a completely free alternative to Microsoft Office, with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation and drawing programs, and support for many file types. OO can open and edit MS Office docx files, and can create pdf files too. And it doesn't need a key.

I am loading up a new Dell computer with Windows 7 Pro, I have the upgrade for Office 2007 ( that I purchased) but only have upgrades since office 95. How can I load Office 2007 upgrade on this new...

Is the disk-drive from the old computer attached as a "slave" disk-drive on the new computer?
If so, then the "upgrade" utility should find the "qualifying" files, and allow the "upgrade" to proceed.

Is Office 95 listed as a "qualifying" product for the Office 2007 upgrade?
If so, then insert the CD-ROM for Office 95 when running the Office 2007 installer.
Or, insert the CD-ROM for the Office 2000/XP/2003 upgrade when requested.

If you're looking to install Office 2003, simply uninstall Officer 2007 using Add/Remove Programs & Features from the Control Panel, and install Office 2003 using the CD you purchased.

Cannot load valid copy of Office 2003, Adobe 7.0 pro, quickbooks

If it is a "new" computer, and Office 2003 and Adobe 7.0 Professional came "pre-installed" on your computer, then take everything back to where you bought the computer, and get them to assist you. If they are at all a "responsible" retailer, they will support the products that they have sold to you.

If you have your own copy of Office 2003, and you are trying to install it, then start Vista's "Program Compatibility Wizard", and select that you want to install an "XP" program, and select the CD-ROM as the "source" for the software that you want to install.

Vista will wrap an "envelope" around Office 2003, to emulate a Windows XP environment.

Same for Quickbooks and for Adobe software.

MS office professional 2007

The product should have been activated already if it was pre-loaded on your OEM (original equipment manufacturer) computer. Did you obtain your product key along with your laptop? Have you contacted the manufacturer? They should be able to issue you a new product key for your pre-installed software.

Windows Vista and Office Pro 2003

hi, yes you can install office 2003 while you already have office 2007. you just need to change the installation directory when you launch the setup for office 2003. change it into something apart from what office 2007 already is installed in. so what you're trying to say is that you should be entitled to an upgrade to office 2007 if office 2003 doesn't work? i would maybe think so... but no solid answer for that one.
