Question about Life Fitness Remanufactured 95Xi Elliptical Crosstrainer Elliptical Trainer

Squeaking on LIfe Fitness 9500HR ellptical

I bought a refurbished version of this machine and it often randomly makes very loud squeaks. I unbolted the right arm bar from the bar carrying the footpad, and there seems to be a bearing block in the coupling of the lower bar that seems to be catching. I don't know if this is a bushing or a ball bearing race. How do I get this out so I can lube it? I am afraid just to try to drive it out with a hammer. Thanks.

No, it is not a treadmill. It is an ellptical cross trainer. See this link for a picture:

Did you get my response with the eBay link showing a similar product. It is a Life Fitness Cross Trainer Elliptical 9500HR

Looking through the web, I find this model sometimes referred to as CT9500HR Total Body Cross Trainer. It is also referred to as CT9500 Rear Drive model. I have found various manuals, but I hwas hoping for someone with actual experience on this model.

I have some problem in identifying your model. I thought that the 9500HR was a Treadmill. This had been listed on ellyptical.

Here the LC9500 service manual. See if this is similar to your machine.

PS:whatever you do, do not use an hammer on the bearing.

I will have a look, but I am afraid I do not have this elliptical in my service manuals. If I search for 9500HR I keep getting the same treadmill.

If we cannot fix the problem , the service manual can be purchased from Life Fitness.

Let me have a look for the service manual first.

I could not find this elliptical.

Here the schematics of a different model:

    CT9500 is not an elliptical:CT9500 Cross-Trainer CT95-0XXXX-14

CT9500HR is quite different from the model in the Ebay page:LifeFitness CT9500HR

This model is even difficult to identify, finding an expert that had worked on the very same model would be quite difficult.

The model on Ebay looks more like a 95xi.

I have not understood what bearing is the problem. This trainer do not use ball bearing, and are quite delicate. Squealing noise is often caused by bad lubrication.

    I am going offline now.

Very noisy and clangs a lot , can I do anything to fix the loud noises?

I haven't seen that exact model myself, but i work on a variety of things for people and have had customers with the same complaint. my usual remedy is apply some 3-in-1 oil or even wd-40 lubricant to the parks that squeak and clank as long as no electronics are nearby to get covered, if so just take precautions not to spray your logic boards, powersupply, etc. and if and when possible, i like to use small pieces of foam stuffed into certain cavities in the plastic as long as they wont get caught in any moving parts or impede the electronics. keep in mind this wont make it completely 'silent' but it will reduce the noise factor slightly, and the lubrication may very well make the bike itself perform more smoothly.
