Hello,
Most belts for washing machines are of the stretch type and they will take a lot of force to get on.Try to put on motor pulley first the try on drum pulley one side or other whichever feels easiest as you start it on pulley start turning drum pulley whilst holding the belt to stop it slipping, keep turning until it goes on then line up to centre of drum pulley.

Hope thet helps.

How do i change a belt on a indesit washer machine its a wd 12

Usually there is a back panel that can be removed to give access to the motor and pulley wheel for the drum. If not then remove the top panel and look down the back and you will see the big drum wheel. you will also be able to see the spindle for the motor at the bottom. Reach down to the motor and hook the belt around the spindle and place as much of it as possible on the pulley then turn the wheel to pull the rest of the belt on. It can be a little tricky but the only other way is to completely remove the back half of the machine. If you get stuck try www.espares.co.uk and check the advice centre, it gives a video on how to change a belt, most machines are similar. Hope this helps.

How do a replace the belt on the drum of my indesit washer dryer

REMOVE THE SOCKET FROM THE WALL OUTLET.
To replace a belt that passes over the drum on a dryer you need to be able to pass the new belt over either the back or the front of the drum. This entails removing the front panel to clear the whole drum or loosening off the rear bearing support to pass the belt under it so that the belt can be passed over the drum. From there it is just a case of passing the belt over the motor pulley and replacing all the parts. Select which will be easier on your machine. After replacing everything but the top panel, make sure that the belt is correctly installed by turning the drum several revolutions by hand and ensuring that the belt is running true and still on the motor pulley. Replace the top cover and you are set to go.

We have an Indesit washer dryer WDG1295. When switching on, it fills with water, hums away as though it is working (including draining) but the drum doesn't turn. The belt looks fine, and if you move the...

Hi,

Immediate thought was the belt but you already checked that. Reading your message, you seem to be indicating the washer goes through the wash cycle and does everything except turn the drum, i.e. it fills and drains and the timer control knob advances as you would expect. This machine has an electro-mechanical timer rather than electronic, so if it advances through the program correctly, I would exclude this from my initial checks, but I'd still come back to it later.

Washing machines aren't that complicated, so if all of the above is true, the obvious assumption would be the drive motor. You've obviously opened up the machine to check the belt, so have you tested the motor with an ohm / multi-meter?

Please confirm the correct operation of the timer and whether you have tested the motor and I will try to assist you further. I check messages regularly, so if you post back here I should reply fairly quickly. Make sure you reply from within this page - don't post a new help request!

Regards,
BElectric

Indesit moon black marks only on hot wash

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.

The belt from an Indesit washing machine broke a wire

The wire you refer to is an earth wire, it has probably pulled of the motor or the frame of the m/c.
If you can't see where it came from, don't worry too much, all you need to do is fasten it to a metal part of the m/c so that is is making a contact to earth.
I assume that you can get a belt o/k
Make sure that the drum and motor are free before you fit new belt.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.

My indesit WG1230 washing machine does not spin or move drum but water go in and out.

Hi,
With the door open, try spinning the drum, there should be some resistance along with a slight wherring sound. If it spins freely without much sound at all - you probably need a new belt.
If you can feel it driving the motor, you may need new contact brushes for the motor.
If the machine buzzes when it should rotate on program, you need a new motor Run capacitor also.
If no sound - nothing, the motor may need replacing or at least checking.
