Computer not detecting plug n play devices

I have tried to plug in both my daughters IPod and my Kodak digital camera and neither are being detected by my win xp computer. Last week I was able to upload my photos off my camera and now it is not even detected by my computer. What can I do? I have turned off the computer and let is set overnight and turned it back on but still does not detect plug n play items. Please help.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Computer not seeing camera

Here are a few things you can try:

- Plug the camera into a different computer and see if it's detected on a different computer.
- Ensure the software for the camera is installed and up to date on the computer you are plugging the camera into.
- Plug a different device (printer, iPod, Mouse, etc...) into your computer into the same port. If a different device is not detected - it may be that the port on your computer is broken. If that's the case, then use a different port for the camera.

Those are some general things to try to get you headed in the right direction.

M753 Easyshare I use Vista and I cannot donwload the latest drivers.

Hello

Any digital camera will work fine with Windows Vista without drivers. Just plug it in via your USB and Windows will detect it as an external device that you can find via My Computer. From there, you can browse through, transfer, and copy your photos and videos.

However, if you are really trying to install the actual Kodak Easyshare software, that software can be located at the below link:

When you plug-in the camera into the USB port, what is the message?
Do you see any pop-up on the lower right hand side of the screen?

Usually the pop-up is "Device is ready to use" or USB device unrecognized if the USB is not recognized
try the camera to other USB port

I plug my camera into my computer and my computer won't find it .

If the camera is not detected by the computer what you can try here is to try connecting the camera on a different USB port and check if it will be detected , but if still not detected if possible for you to try a different USB cable that will be better or if possible also try to connect the camera on a different computer so we can isolate the problem if its just the USB cable , the USB port or the camera itself that is bad...

Camera will detect camera then come up with error message

What Operating system is your Lappie? If it is XP or 2000 no driver required. Best advice is to remove the camera soft ware from the computer. Plug the camera in and Windows will detect it as a new drive in My Computer. The best advice for software supplied with cameras is - Leave it in the Box and let WINDOWS DO THE WORK
