Question about GE D52GW12 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Green screen for 30 seconds, then shuts down

My dad has a GE D52GW12YX2. It is about three years old. The other day it was on and jsut shut itself off. The next morning when he turned it on there was a spark in the bottom of the unit and he said he thought he saw some smoke. Now when I turn it on the screen is all green but the sound works. It then shuts off after a few minutes.

I looked inside the cabinet and saw that the green tube is the only one working.

Hp flat panel monitor comes on shows logon and then blank screen

Ok, another words, monitor powers up for few seconds and shuts down by itself. If green LED on the front panel turns off as well or stays on?
If stays on, then inverter turns into protection mode because of old backlight lamps.
If it turns off in same time with an image on the screen, then there are some bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.

GE microwave won't turn off

Just checked the GE website. Had the same problem with my 5 year old microwave. GE website says to close and open the door quickly three times. First time I did this it didn't work. Second time I closed the door with some significant force and reopened it more quickly. Worked. Unplugged the microwave, plugged it back in, still fine.

Infocus x1a projector shuts down after 30 seconds - dust problem ??

There is a safety themostat inside the unit (looks like a silver button the approx size of a dime) that will shut the system down if you do not have adequate airflow. You can dis-assemble the projector by removing the screws on the bottom and rear of the housing and pressing in the plastic locking tabs inside the cover all around the perimeter but I would advise against this unless you are comfortable with delicate nature of the projector.

Dehumidifier keeps shutting itself off.

For some reason it is overheating and shutting itself off. There is a law that all electronics are supposed to have a point to where it automatically shuts off if it gets too hot from a malfunction or loose connection in the circuit board. It is to protect the consumer. You either need to take it to a tech or get rid of it. Get a new one.
