50 inch samsung HLN5065

My Samsung 50 inch HLN 5065 DLP has the following systems:
problem started out with frozen screen and no sound, and set would not turn off with power button or remote-had to unplug from outlet. Plug back in and Set would come back on and play 5minutes to an hour before freezing again. Sometimes all the warning lights blink, sometimes not. So far I have replaced the lamp and color wheel. Now after replacing these 2 parts when TV is turned on it sounds like it is cycling up, but the lamp does not light at all, the screen stays black, and the TV soon starts a cycle of cutting iself on and off, and after the 1st time doing this all 3 lights start blinking.
I am thinking of going ahead and replacing the Lamp Ballast as all you read on the web is that these 3 parts are the most likely causes of these time systems.
Can someone shed any light (no pun) on my problem before I nickel and dime my way to a new TV.

Thanks,

Does a negative image appear on the board? If so, then

The negative image on the screen is the DMD board (Digital Mirror Board). The cycle sound is the color wheel trying to spin but if the DMD board is going bad, it will effect the color wheel and not spin. This will make your image freeze.

Sometimes the DMD board can be repair. But do understand not all can be fixed.

If you need help with repairs www.ptscorp.com can repair them.

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes and whether you need any additional help or if you don't believe that this is your problem for some reason.

Have a good day and thank you

Hi,

I would strongly recommend you to go ahead and replace the ballast. That's the only option you are left with.If you fail then there are two options get it repaired by a technician or buy a new one.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

We have a samsung HLN 5065 w projection tv.

Hi,if you hear clicking it could be the board that powers the lamp its called the ballast Was the fan
running ok? You can clean it w an air pressure
can. If you heard clicking or like wanting to turn on the problem could be with the board that powers the lamp. The board it's called the ballast. If its not able
to provide the power to the lamp it will not turn it on
and the red light will blink. Also pay attention to sounds off buzzing which could indicate a color wheel issue.

you either need another Lamp which is very possible or Ballast Board. Ballast board is what turns Lamp on, pull back watch to see if there is a Ark coming from spark cap on Ballast board if so Lamp if not Ballast board call Mats for lamp 1-800-628-1118 OR Go to E-Bay for Lamp and Ballast Board Look under TV Parts After rereading your Post I think Lamp! Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

If your Mitsubishi TV has white spots in the picture , you can call Mitsubishi @ 1-800-332-2119 and request a free DLP Chip to fix the problem. They will send the New DLP Chip at no charge to a TV Tech in your area to install it for $200 flat rate. That is about a $250 savings if you had to pay for the chip . Call them with your TV's Model number and serial number and let them know when and where you bought the TV.
It saved me some hard earned money and now my TV is like New !

Self focus not working on samsung 5065w 50 inch asking to check factory data

As ima_rm2000 noted, the HLN is manual focus.  There is a focus ring at the base of the lens assembly.  Here is PDF of the focus assembly.  You have to remove the back of the set to access this, and tape/tie the lamp door switch closed so the TV will power up so you can focus it.
