You lens is not working properly and it needs service. That is all the error means. The camera will not work right until it is fixed. I repair this error all the time. Depending on the model of camera you have depends on the cost of the repair places like mine some of them offer a trade in upgrade. If you feel that is what you want to do.Cost of repair can be any where from 50 and up on your camera. Hope this helps Let me know if you need any other assistance.

Buy a used camera with a good lens off a place like ebay and take yours apart slowly and write down every screw you take out also you can get a service manual for your camera off ebay some times that will help you out and watch out for that flash compasitor it can bit like a starving dog on a meaty bone.

Lens error

I think it has technical problem, i mean inside hardware problem. You must not do it on your own and consult a technician to fix it.

When we turn on our Sanyo VPC E1090 digital camera the lens does not appear to come out completely & we get an "lens error 0x0311" message on the screen then it turns off. WHAT IS WRONG!! ...

If lens does not appear to come out completely and camera gives error that means lens mechanism got broken internally and lens assembly will be replaced to solve the issue.
Lens replacement is not user level repair and local camera repair shop[ will do this job for you if camera is out of warranty.
Thanks.

Camera turns on and works but has constant error cf and when you try to format the card reads error 99

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could means several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:

Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Camera V705 has a error 45 on screen. What is this I tried everything Kodak

This error message means that the lens is stuck. Kodak say that the only solution is repair, but I have read elsewhere that they no longer offer repair service for this older model.

Since your camera is probably worthless, you may wish to try unorthodox methods to attempt to free the lens, such as trying to turn it on/off in unusual angles e.g. upside down. A good shake probably wouldn't hurt either - point the lens downwards in the hope of dislodging something.

Unfortunately, given the number of owners reporting this error, I feel it's probable that the motor is prone to failure, but the error code is reporting it as a sticking lens.

I dropped my camera and the lens won't retract. The screen reads lens error restart camera. Even though I have removed the battery to restart the camera, it won't correct its self. The lens stays out.

When you reset the camera you should be able to hear the gears of the camera lens turning. The problem is that the lens is out of alignment so the lens can't slide back in. As the gears are turning, straighten out the lens (you might have to try forcing it in different directions if it's not obvious which way the lens is bent) and it should slide back in. You obviously want to be gentle enough to not break it, but sometimes you have to use a little bit of force based on the severity of the drop. You also might need to try a few times since the gears will only run for so long before stopping. I have fixed a few cameras this way but if the lens is bent too far out of alignment you'll have to get it profesionally fixed.

LENS ERROR 2 on my Casio Ex-V7

I read on the Casio website that this is due to an impact, meaning, the camera must have fallen or hit something really hard and strong.

Lens error 2 indicates that there is something wrong in the lens assembly. One possible damage concerns the image stabilization mechanism.

I also own a Casio EX-V7. My sister dropped it so hard that a dent has appeared on one of the front corners. Everytime I switch on the camera on record mode, LENS ERROR 2 appears for a few seconds.

Despite this, I can happily use the camera as usual. However, it's just annoying to see the Error.

I'm planning to bring it to a service center within a month from now.

Digimax samsung s500 beeps 3 times lens stuck wont stay on

Mine got stuck with lens out. The batteries were new so I never imagined it could be the batteries, but they were cheap ones so I recharged a pair of good ones and once I put tried them on it worked just fine again. Conclusion, the "new" cheap batteries had only enough energy to turn it on and then they couldn't give it enough energy to make it work anymore and that's why I couldn't retract the lens or even turn it off properly. So in your case, try using a couple of good and new batteries.
