Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I used to be able to watch ABCvideos (ie.LOST) the video downloads 100% but when i hit play I get the "cant find...error" page. The same happens when I open emails, but sometimes they do open??? I really would like to watch the episodes again
As I posted earlier, the problem isn't with any of our hardware or software. Here is some further detail than I posted earlier. Both ABC and FOX use a plugin developed by a company called Move Networks. You can go directly to their site and test the plugin, you can also test by going to Fox and viewing their videos. This tells you the problem isn't on your end, ABC has broken something on their site. This affects both macs and pcs, each of the browsers, again because it isn't related to us, it's their end that is broken. Hopefully this will save you all from wasting time trying to fix what isn't broken on your side.

I partially solved my problem with the ABC full episode player and thought I would share it. Still having another problem though that I'll go into in a sec. Turns out you have to uninstall Internet Explorer and downgrade to a lower version because the new Beta Internet Explorer is what is causing the episodes to not play. I finally was able to get them to play once I did this, nothing else I tried worked. However now only the first segment of an episodes plays and once the first commercial break plays the player freezes up and won't continue the video. It's so frustrating! I wish ABC would be more serious and proactive about keeping their site running properly!!! It irritates me that you can't find the shows on any other site either, www.hulu.com has shows from almost every other channel, FOX, CBS, NBC, etc... but when you look up an ABC show it says you have to watch them at ABC.com I would if their player would ever work!!!

Trouble with the ABC player, this worked for me:
To get past the grey screen of death
Go to Flashplayer's Settings Manager http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.html#118539
Here you will see a box with tabs along the top:
on the global storage setting tab, make sure you set global storage to at least 10mb and check mark the "allow third-party" and "store common flash" check boxes.
on the website storage settings tab, clear all pages and slide that to at least 10mb as well
This should get you passed the grey screen (sometimes it takes a few seconds, be patient) and is you happen to get an error message just continue past it.
Now you have video, but the damn thing freezes after a few seconds right? Well, this is what worked for me (and a bit of a pain in the ***)
On the ABC player bar (move networks player) you have the little white chapter tabs.
Kind of like this: (Play)>------|---------------|-------------|---------------|--
Chapter bar (ticks)^
Start your show, watch the preceding commercial until the "click to continue comes up"
As soon as your video starts move your slider just past the next (or first in this case) white tick (chapter bar) you'll have a little image of the next chapter pop up over your cursor when you've done it right.
A commercial will start, wait for it (this becomes the patient pain-in-the-***-part) click continue.
Your next chapter will start...WITH A FROZEN IMAGE OF COURSE....no worries, just move your slider to the next white tick (chapter bar) watch commercial....click continue....
Repeat this process all the way through to the credits.
Once you have done this...slide the progress bar all the way back to the beginning of your show.....it will start...give it a sec sometimes.
Your video will have become a tiny box, with "what to watch next" boxes accross th bottom. Just look at the bottom right corner of your video and you'll see an "expand video arrow" click it (of course)
You can at this time go to full screen if you desire.....when full screen starts you will say %&$* the %#$@^ thing froze again!
No worries the freeze only lasts a few seconds....then suddenly fast forwards through the video to catch up to the audio....and resumes play normally.
The nice thing is that there are no more commercials...you've seen them all already (heh heh that was fun)......it may pause between chapters for a few seconds...just wait, your video will continue and still in full screen!
*I like to turn my volume off and hold a piece of paper in front of my screen while going through the chapters, so all I can see is the player slider bar, that way I don't get anything spoiled for me, like the friend who tells you all about the movie you just told him/her you wanted to see.
My only other suggestion, if you are still haveing trouble, is to change your "Move Networks" player setting for audio and video.
Go here to do this:
I hoped this helped.....I know it is very frustrating, so good luck 8-)

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
