Same problem here. We want to watch Lost using the PS3 but it takes us to a blank page.

  • garygraywolf May 02, 2008

When we try play a full episode on ABC we get an error window, saying it is not available at this time , try again later. We have updated the move networks media player, made sure java script was enabled, and disabled the pop blockers. So far nothing as worked.

Have the latest adobe play 9.0124 on a mac osx but I get an error message after trying to load: "Episode not available at this time."

  • Anonymous May 17, 2008

When I try the ABC full episode player, I get a message saying the full episodes are only available within the United States. I am in the United States.

I try to play episodes of lost via my internet browser on PS3. I know a lot of people are having similar issues. I have a feeling its Sony's fault by not creating an available/downloadable adobe flashplayer that will support PS3 and whatever OS it runs on. If you know of any solutions, downloadable flashplayers for PS3 that will allow me to watch Lost and other shows, please contact me at RCentore2@smcvt.edu

Thank you so much for your time.

I used to be able to watch LOST on the abc.com Full Episode Player.  Now, I can't access it.  A small white rotating circle comes on the screen and nothing happens.

  • Anonymous Nov 16, 2008

I was watching shows online as late as last week, but now it's making me install a new player. When I do the install, after I click run, it does nothing. Fox does the same thing. Their players are from the same company, and that company's website has no info for troubleshooting. It's from Move Networks, mabye someone else can get some more info, I can't find any.

When I try to load an episode on ABC, the player aborts Internet Explorer

  • Anonymous Dec 12, 2008

i could watch shows on their new player. then one day i couldn't, i get a blank screen.

sometimes i get an ie error that it can't load the abc page, sometimes it ie just shuts down the page.

the "move" video player works on cw and fox, so why not abc?

i've tried: reinstalling move video player, flash, java, realplayer, yahoo browser, i cleaned cache and cookies, did defrag, turned off firewall/spyware and pop up stoppers/turned off antivirus, ran two antivirus checks. did system restore to before when it worked, and still can't watch abc shows. i got an auto repsonse from abc once, no help. don't bother trying any of this stuff, none of it worked.

Tiger 10.4.11 all updates current, you can test your install directly at the Move Networks site http://www.movenetworks.com/install-move... , mine plays fine, when I try to watch episode at ABC all I get is the spinning white circle, this tells me that it is ABC's fault and not the players' fault!

  • mare4456 Jan 24, 2009

It seems to play the commericial fine and then it loads but won't play. Help someone is it a setting or ABC?

I also used to be able to watch ABC shows in full. Now, I'm only able to watch until the 1st commercial break. After that, nothing. It just stalls. What can I do to solve this problem?

  • Anonymous Feb 26, 2009

When I go to Move Networks, I have the same problem - my browser freezes (both IE & Firefox). this tells me the problem is with Move Networks, and no one else/not another program etc. Very frustrating! I tried deleting the Move Networks program and then downloading it directly from the site, and my browser promptly froze up after running the download and watching the "test" plug-in video!

As I posted earlier, the problem isn't with any of our hardware or software. Here is some further detail than I posted earlier. Both ABC and FOX use a plugin developed by a company called Move Networks. You can go directly to their site and test the plugin, you can also test by going to Fox and viewing their videos. This tells you the problem isn't on your end, ABC has broken something on their site. This affects both macs and pcs, each of the browsers, again because it isn't related to us, it's their end that is broken. Hopefully this will save you all from wasting time trying to fix what isn't broken on your side.

I partially solved my problem with the ABC full episode player and thought I would share it. Still having another problem though that I'll go into in a sec. Turns out you have to uninstall Internet Explorer and downgrade to a lower version because the new Beta Internet Explorer is what is causing the episodes to not play. I finally was able to get them to play once I did this, nothing else I tried worked. However now only the first segment of an episodes plays and once the first commercial break plays the player freezes up and won't continue the video. It's so frustrating! I wish ABC would be more serious and proactive about keeping their site running properly!!! It irritates me that you can't find the shows on any other site either, www.hulu.com has shows from almost every other channel, FOX, CBS, NBC, etc... but when you look up an ABC show it says you have to watch them at ABC.com I would if their player would ever work!!!

Trouble with the ABC player, this worked for me:
To get past the grey screen of death
Go to Flashplayer's Settings Manager http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.html#118539
Here you will see a box with tabs along the top:
on the global storage setting tab, make sure you set global storage to at least 10mb and check mark the "allow third-party" and "store common flash" check boxes.
on the website storage settings tab, clear all pages and slide that to at least 10mb as well
This should get you passed the grey screen (sometimes it takes a few seconds, be patient) and is you happen to get an error message just continue past it.
Now you have video, but the damn thing freezes after a few seconds right? Well, this is what worked for me (and a bit of a pain in the ***)
On the ABC player bar (move networks player) you have the little white chapter tabs.
Kind of like this: (Play)>------|---------------|-------------|---------------|--
Chapter bar (ticks)^
Start your show, watch the preceding commercial until the "click to continue comes up"
As soon as your video starts move your slider just past the next (or first in this case) white tick (chapter bar) you'll have a little image of the next chapter pop up over your cursor when you've done it right.
A commercial will start, wait for it (this becomes the patient pain-in-the-***-part) click continue.
Your next chapter will start...WITH A FROZEN IMAGE OF COURSE....no worries, just move your slider to the next white tick (chapter bar) watch commercial....click continue....
Repeat this process all the way through to the credits.
Once you have done this...slide the progress bar all the way back to the beginning of your show.....it will start...give it a sec sometimes.
Your video will have become a tiny box, with "what to watch next" boxes accross th bottom. Just look at the bottom right corner of your video and you'll see an "expand video arrow" click it (of course)
You can at this time go to full screen if you desire.....when full screen starts you will say %&$* the %#$@^ thing froze again!
No worries the freeze only lasts a few seconds....then suddenly fast forwards through the video to catch up to the audio....and resumes play normally.
The nice thing is that there are no more commercials...you've seen them all already (heh heh that was fun)......it may pause between chapters for a few seconds...just wait, your video will continue and still in full screen!
*I like to turn my volume off and hold a piece of paper in front of my screen while going through the chapters, so all I can see is the player slider bar, that way I don't get anything spoiled for me, like the friend who tells you all about the movie you just told him/her you wanted to see.
My only other suggestion, if you are still haveing trouble, is to change your "Move Networks" player setting for audio and video.
Go here to do this:
http://www.movenetworks.com/support/renderer.html
I hoped this helped.....I know it is very frustrating, so good luck 8-)

Trying to watch abc.com laptop telling me i need to install newer version of adobe flash player. i did. still not playing, still telling me i need to install.????turned off and back on 3 times.

First of all debbie, you CAN NOT UPDATE FLASHPLAYER ON THE PS3! Now, that being said, believe it or not, abc has changes some policies regarding internet viewing. Unless you are a PAID subscriber to them, you will not be able to stream anything from abc.com. And oh! I just realized your question was about a laptop, but you've posted it under the SONY PLAYSTATION 3 console page.

I have one of the PS3's that still plays PS and PS2 games. As of two days ago it has started doing odd things with DVDs. It allows us to watch the first episode and then returns to the PS3 home screen....

This is a problem occurring in all the play station 3 consoles....... this is mainly because of the poor quality of the disc.....as a result it leads to the damage of ur PS3 lens..............use good original discs........the heating effect is due to the long usage of pirated discs

Abc player isn't connecting anymore (lost - season 3)

If it is on your PC then it's probably ABC's server. Try sending them an e-mail and asking if they are experiencing any problems on their end.

Can't launch the abc shows

The abc site uses Flash and while the PS3 supports Flash it's not 100% solid.

I'm assuming you're using firmware 2.60, can you verify this?

Cant watch movies or tv shows from the internet.

This isn't possible with the PS3's browser.

The ONLY way you can watch the Netflix movies is by downloading their special software and using Internet Explorer.

As far as ABC and flash goes the PS3 should be able to play "most" flash embedded videos as long as you have the latest firmware update (2.60)

Because the way the PS3 is designed you're not able to modify the browser in any way so you can't add any of the special software these websites use to distribute their content.

Your only "solution" would be to setup a linux partition on the PS3 but unless this is your cup of tea I'd stray way from things like this.

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate my solution.

Thanks!

I cant watch media ie youtube or anything

the problem is that the DS isnt capable of maintaining a very good download speed. The browser that you are using is meant only for light usage rather than the heavy kind that you want. as for a solution, maybe you could invest in a better router as the distance from it will affect it. Also its worth setting up your router and allowing a port for the DS to access each time.
