Question about GE Monogram ZEU30RSFSS Stainless Steel Electric Cooktop

F-113 code The hot surface indicator light for the large front left burner remains on. I have powered off the unit and it still comes back. Any ideas? Expensive repair? Burner works fine.

    More information from Tonythetiger:

    GE Monogram ZEU30R (Stainless Steel)

The burner does NOT go on. The code F 113 comes up when trying to turn on the burner. What does the F 113 code mean? The hot surface indicator light remains on all the time. If repairable, what is the part number? I would like to repair it myself.

The affected burner is the front left.

    Thank you.

I have the manual and I haved already attempted what the manual suggested without success. I imagine that Code F113 is a diagnosis code and I am looking for the diagnosis without having to call a serviceman. When your automobile service engine light goes out you can have someone at Autozone get the diagnosis code and tell you what it means. What does F113 mean? I had anticipated by paying for this service that it would provide more information than what is already in the manual and that someone out there has seen this code F113 before and knows what it means. What part is broken when you have a code F113? What is the part number? Any further help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello tonythetiger,

Well, according to the information I was able to glean from the instruction manual, you have to touch the 'control lock' pad, disconnect the power to cooktop, and reconnect. If the F code appears again, you will need to call for service.

I am afraid I am not able to find out what the error code f113 means. I scoured every available resource, and GE are not very forthcoming either, as I am not a customer.

It could be something as simple as replacing a capacitor or sensor, but unless you know exactly where to look and what the code actually means, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

If you want to know what the error codes stand for, your best bet would
be to visit a local GE authorised dealer or write to the address I
    provided above.

Hope that helps, and good luck.

    Cheers!

Most likely the problem is in the heat control switch.Cannot be repaired you will have to replace it. To make sure, swap it with one of the other burners that do not have the problem. If the problem goes away, you know its the switch.

My left front burner was turned off for almost half hour but remained hot. the hot surface light was still lit. I had to throw my main breaker to turn it off. What could be my problem

Sounds like the thermostat on that burner gas gone. When you switched the breaker back on, did the burner get warm after being cold? If so, you need a new controller. They are easy to change if you can get to the back of the unit. Make sure you turn off the breaker and physically remove the plug.

F113

I have the same problem. I had a repair man here and he said the main powder logic board ( WB23T10014) was the problem, it would cost $757 to fix. I ordered the board for $230 and installed it myself but still have the F113 problem.

Right front (large) burner indicates hot, won't work, flashes F153

I hade a code 153 also. Changed the element(costly-$200) and had to recalibrate the pan sensors(in the manual). All works fine now.

Throw your circuit breaker that leads to this unit for a few seconds, then reset the breaker This unit is very sensitive to power fluctuations.

Remove ceramic cooktop

grouch, kill the power to the cooktop. You are going to have to remove the mounting brackets from undernieth and push the cooktop up. After it's up from it's installation position remove the side and back screws holding the top to the botom. Remove the burner knobs and it should come apart. Sounds like you have a bad burner switch.
