Take a look at this one:

http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=12066616531900&smodel=USR5RF&brand_pn=ONKYO_USR5RF

If this is yours, I would suggest you look at a few 'universal' replacements; the quoted cost of ~$770 is ridiculous.

The chances that anyone has the appropriate replacement parts on hand (they are often either custom ICs or programmed ICs) is close to nil.

You might want to try Onkyo direct but if the set is more than a few years old, don't expect much help.

make sure the slide switch on the remote is in the TV position.

you can check to see if the remote is putting out a signal by using the camera in your wireless phone. While viewing camera point remote in to camera lens and push button on remote, you should see flashing light on camera display.

you could try resetting remote,

(1) Set the slide switch to TV position.
(2) Press and hold the POWER button
(2) until it flashes twice then release
(2) the button.
(3) Enter the code 0 0 9 3 5.

If remote still doesn't work you will need repair shop to look at it again, it's possible there is a plug inside that is not connected.

I have a Samsung HLP5063. Just bought a Onyko AV receiver with HMDI hook ups. Also connecting Dish 211VIP, and Samsung DVD connected to the receiver. I was able to get the DVD player to work, but no...

Have you gone through your onkyo receivers setup manual. You will most likely need to adjust the settings on your Onkyo receiver. I also have an onkyo reciever and I have to assign the inputs to the video source. Being that you got sound out of the front speakes. I am assuming when you were playing out of the dvd player your reciever was only on stereo sound. Once I get feedback I can assist you further
Thanks,
Lee

Uverse standard remote control stops working at night

The remote stops working the Uverse box or the TV or both?
Try putting the Uverse box behind the plane of the TV screen so the I.R. that the TV emits doesn't get to the front of the Uverse box.

Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.

JVC 48" rear projection AV48WP30 is HAUNTED

Dear Losing Sleep, The symptoms you're describing sounds like a bad tac switch or two. You might notice a bit of a pattern also, consistent with temp changes. (ie: up in the early AM when house got cooler, and bingo set is on). It's not an expensive repair. Tac switches are an item under a buck a piece. However, this is NOT something you want to tackle yourself... This TV is actually built to self destruct if a less than educated tech opens the back. If you remove the rear cover while the power is on you will destroy all DVI programing inside the DVI (Digital Input Module). The only way to restore the programming is to send the unit to JVC. There is a light sensor inside the TV and when the back is removed with the power on the data is erased from the eprom. You might even take it an extra mile when calling around to find a shop to work on it by asking if they know the correct procedure for opening the back of your TV - - If they do know their answer will be something like this: First turn off set and remove power cord then short pins 1 and 2 on the SB connector of digital input module. Before replacing the rear panel remember to remove the short on the SB connector. Do not turn power on until the rear panel is inserted into the cabinet. If you have to work inside the set with power on remove the two cables going to the DVI module. When you find the right shop take the unit in yourself - you'll save a few bucks that way. Hope this helps. Bill
