Question about Intel D865GBF Motherboard

I got pc with motherboard, " d865gbf ", the problem i got is the pc to turn off, i have to pull the electric cord from the outlet, in the wall.

If all wiresare connected to the mother board and the switch is working correctly after holding the button for 5 seconds it should shut off

Lights will not turn on


I experienced the same problem. One day the lights on the unit weren't on. The wall outlet that the dishwasher uses had power because the Garbage Disposal that also uses the same outlet had power. Turns out the power supply cord also tied to the water supply hose and had over the months (due to the constant slapping or dancing of the water hose whenever the electrically controlled water valve was opened or closed), had caused the female receptor prong inside the wall outlet to loose continuity with the male prong of the dishwasher power cord. It might have been a defective wall plug all along but the wall outlet worked for months before the problem arose. Anyway, after replacing the wall outlet the dishwasher again has lights and works fine.

Pc wont turn on


Check the power cord at the wall, the pc, and power strip if you're using one. Remove the laptop battery if it has one, and try turning it on. If you don't get any lights, or fans coming on, and the power outlet is verified working, then your cord, power inlet, or motherboard is faulty.

No power. Will not turn on


Not intended to offend;
1. If using A/C (house electrical power), please check if electrical wall outlet is active. Attempt to plug-in another electrical device such as a lamp, clock, radio, etc.. If the electrical wall outlet has top and bottom plugs, try the top and then the bottom plug to see which one works. Sometimes, the top outlet will not work, yet the bottom outlet does work. The wall outlet should be replaced by qualified technician.
2. If both outlets do NOT work, and the outlet is GFCI breaker protected, maybe pressing the RESET switch on the outlet will power-up the outlet.
3. If the outlet is NOT GFCI breaker protected, check your electrical fuse box for a tripped fuse. Sometimes, a tripped fuse is NOT visible. May have to trip the specific fuse or all fuses to off, then back on. Recheck the wall outlet.
4. Once your know the outlet is live, check the power cord (a/c adapter for laptops) to make sure they are securely plugged-in to both the wall outlet AND the PC or Laptop.

Will need more information once the above steps are taken:

Is it a Desktop or Laptop?
Make and Model (if known)?
Any lights (glowing) on the desktop or laptop?
Any lights on the A/C adapter if its a laptop?

: Check the power cord

1.
Turn on the product.
2.
Remove the power cord from the back of the product.
3.
Check the power cord for any physical damage. If the power cord is damaged, replace the power cord.

Turn the product off and then on again

1.
Press the Power button ( ) to turn the product off.
2.
Wait 60 seconds, and then press the Power button ( ) to turn the product back on.
3.
If the product does not turn off when the Power button ( ) is pressed, wait three minutes, and then proceed to the next solution.

Plug the product into a wall outlet
Follow these steps to make sure the product is plugged in correctly.

1.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.

Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips.
3.

Solution six: Reset the product
Follow these steps to reset the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.

Wait 10 seconds, and then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Plug the power cord into the back of the product.
NOTE: Many power cords have an LED light on the power module or on the end of the cord that plugs into the product. Make sure the LED light is lit and steady.
5.
Press the Power button ( ) to turn the product on.

6. Perform a partial reset of the product
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the product.

IF still won't resolve it by following steps mentioned above then your printer needs replacement. Malfunctioning hardware.

Which wires turn on the power supply


If you are referring to the the main power cord the plugs in from the wall outlet in your home. Then there is only one looks like a thick black cord with three female end slits and on the opposite side three pronged electric outlet plug ( standard outlet plug ). Is your power supply not turning on?

When i cleaned my dell demension i put everything back exactly how it was now when i turn on my computer none of my external devices mouse pc screen keyboard is not turning on i need help


I would first check and verify that the electrical outlet or power strip that they are plugged into is working. If a plug gets in a bind it could have blown a fuse on the power strip or the power strip might have a reset switch on it. Or the power strip might have failed. If you have a uninteruptable powersupply that you plug everything into you will need to confirm that it is working as well, test it and look for reset buttons or a fuse holder on it. Your electrical cords could have been pulled out from the wall outlet itself while cleaning sometimes even wall outlets if put in a bind from pressure will blow a fuse or the cord might pull out just enough that it is not making a good connection.
You might get a lamp with a bulb that you know works and plug it into the same electrical receptical that you have the dell computers power cord plugged into and then test the monitor power source the same way.
If the outlets or power strip are getting power and that is confirmed by testing them, and then you plug in the Monitor and Dell power cords into the sources that you have confirmed are getting power, and they do not come on we have a different problem.
If the monitor is hooked up wrong to the computer or not even hooked to the computer the light should come on on the front of the monitor incicating that it is getting power. If you plug it into a confirmed working electrical outlet the light should come on on the power button of the monitor. If it does not come on then somehting might hve possibly damaged all of the epuipment that was plugged in like a power spike on the electrical lines going into your home, this would be very rare but not impossible.
I am sorry for all of the senerios but you were not really clear on what you were using as power sources going to the equipment and I wanted to try and cover the most common possibilities in one email. Please let me know if this helps

My display screen is rolling and nothing stops it. My computer says the printer is offline.


Try doing this procedure to correct the problem.

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips.
3. Select a wall outlet to plug the product into. Test the wall outlet by plugging another electric appliance, such as a lamp, into the wall outlet and turning it on. Unplug the test appliance.
4. Plug the power cord into the back of the product.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Press the Power button to turn the product on.
7.Now check if its already working.

Grill problems


I would advise not to use the grill or the plug it plugs into before determining what the problem is. It could be the grill cord, or the wall plug.

If you have been in the habit of pulling the cord plug out of the wall by tugging on the cord, then chances are the problem is broken conductors inside of the wire insulation. One way to test this is to attempt plugging the unit into a totally different wall outlet. If the cord and outlet heat up again, chances are the cord needs to be replaced (if possible). If the both do not heat up, then the outlet wiring connections inside of the wall need to be checked.

Bad wiring connections either in the wall, or in the cord, will generate heat, when will then conduct to the other connector. So it is difficult to use heat as the indicator of which connector is bad.

Pc won't power ( turn on)


The green light is most likely your lan card/port. If the cord/outlet are sparking when you plug it in, I would say try plugging something else into that socket, if you get the same spark, I'd call an electrician. Also try plugging the pc into a different outlet. As far as the computer, if its not the outlet then it is the power supply, your motherboard may be fried in the process but if this isn't an issue with that outlet, then you should take it in to a shop.

How old is your computer? Did you recently have a power outage or anything? Most the time if a computer won't turn on, something in it went bad OR an outlet is bad. Try this:

1. Make sure that the power switch is on, the switch in the back (on the power supply itself) is turned on, and everything along those lines is functioning.
2. If that doesn't work, and it will not power on AT ALL, make sure the cords are plugged firmly in place, including the surge protector and/or the power cord itself.
3. Try resetting the surge suppressor and/or plug the computer into a different outlet in the surge suppressor. Try other items in that surge suppressor (or even in the wall outlet, if that's what you're plugged into) to make sure that the outlet itself is working.
4. If your computer is plugged directly into a working wall or surge suppressor outlet, try a different power cord.
5. If your surge suppressor works, your wall outlet has power to it, and you are using a known-good power cord in the computer, you will have to go into more in-depth investigation as something inside the computer likely went bad. It could be the video card, motherboard, CPU fan, power button, or the power supply itself. Start by testing the video card and the power supply by (one at a time) swapping out a known-good component for the one you suspect may be bad. If it won't turn on after that, try swapping out the next and try it again. If it still will not work, it could be something more serious such as the motherboard or power button.
