If your shower stall has a crack in the bottom, you may be able to see if it is getting the wood wet by looking under house. But even if it is not leaking there now, it will eventualy become a problem. I would suggest that you make some repairs or hire a proffessional soon. I hope this helps.

How to reinforce a flexing fiberglass shower floor

either replace with a precast concrete shower base or fill the area underneath the fibreglass shower with expanding foam. You would have to put a small box section around the drain for access.

Floor sags slightly with wt. of a person. Is there something that can be inserted under the tub floor?

You likely have dry rot, caused by a leak. Very best thing to do is have a competent contractor look underneath and confirm what really needs to be done. You may need to replace floor joists, fix the shower pan, etc.

Where does the rubber membrane go when tiling a bathroom floor

tiles on wooden floors will always move and crack the grout/tiling cement
therefore the rubber membrane goes down first with out nails and then everything is laid on top
that way when the wooden floor moves , there is a water proof membrane to prevent the water from rotting the wood over time

Qualified? Plumber? sounds like it needs to be shimed, because not all floors are exactly level,or castings of toilets exactly perfect.Doesn't sound like the handyman knows what he's doing.Shims available at home depot--plastic-don't shim with wood-it will rot.I've used various coins to get right thickness.Be careful tightening bolts, you'll crack bowl.Find a legit plumber licensed

I have just had a new shower enclosure fitted which has has to be built up off the floor to allow for drainage. This has left a 3" gap along the bottom from floor to shower base. Where can I get a piece of...

Hello. Just go to home depot or lowes and get 2-3 spray cans of expandible foam. If you have acces to the opening between the floor and shower floor spray it around the gap. If not, Just use a small drill bit and make some holes around the wood frame and spray it. These foam will secure the shower and also will prevent the shower floor to crack it.
