How do i add a ram memory to my labtop, explain please

It depends on what model of laptop you have. Typicly there is a plastic cover that you remove from the bottom of the laptop to expose your ram dimms (spots to add ram). In some cases both spots will allready have ram in them, in this case you will need to buy higher capacity ram like a 2 or 4 gig stick. I like to order my ram from newegg.com but if you have no idea what you are doing you can take out the ram and take it to a place like best buy and tell them you need higher capacity ram like "this". They will tell you what kind of ram it is and you can either buy it from them, or go home and get it cheaper online.

There is an app called cpuz (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html Download links are on the right side) When you download and run it, the app can tell you what kind of motherboard and ram you currently have. From there you can do a quick google search to see the max allowable amount of ram you can use as well with what kind.

Add more ram

hi-
To add ram - look on the back of the lap top. You will see some screws that are holding down a little door. There may be two of these. Remove the screws on the ram cover and remove ram cover

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Ram slots are stacked. you have to remove the top one first.
1- press the buttons on the sides of the ram chip, and then it will pop up and towards you.
2- 2- pull this ram upwards and out
3- from there, you can take out the other chip, if there is one, or you can start installing.
4- installing the new ram chips is just as easy
5- line up the slots in the chip, then push it in as far as you can without breaking it.
6- then push it down so that you hear it click on both sides, and doesn't budge.
7- Repeat using the top chip.
This should do it –
I hope it helps- please rate me – thanks

What kind of memory can i add

go by the law, youre only as fast as your slowest stick of ram, and PC2700 is about the most expensive ram out there.. old ram that is...
if i were you, sell those two, and buy yourself a stick of 512 pc3200..
i mean think about it mathwise...
if you go from 400 mhz ram
to 266 mhz ram
your going down in speed 33 percent...
sell em! =]

How to add ram if theres only one slot?

Hello

If you need to add ram but there is only one ram slot, you need to replace the current ram chip with another chip with better specs. Thus ,if you have a 512mb chip in now, you need to replace it with a 1gb chip. Hope this can help you.

Kind regards
Andrea
