Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Looks like you have trash/debris in the inlet valve of the carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it
run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,
but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you
buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will
get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, count the
number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns
they were in/out.

2005 hyunsung comet 250 blowing oil and gas out of breather while running.

It may be running ridiculously rich or the float in the carburetor is stuck open and pouring fuel into the cylinder while it sits. Drain the oil and if fuel is in it, you probably have a carb issue. Getting oil in the air filter box is not unheard of because a hose connects the crankcase to the breather box to let unburned fumes back into the cylinder. I'm not familiar with this bike but I've known some bikes had a tendency to cough up oil into the air intake if you ran it wide open on the throttle. The older big displacement kawasaki vulcan cruisers come to mind.

When I move the choke to run the motor dies....even after 30 minutes of running.

No, but it sounds if the carb needs to be cleaned! Fresh fuel helps too. Check the spark plug and check the breather filter. Also you can crank the engine with the breather filter off and try to move the choke to run then. If it runs with the filter off then there is your problem! 1 question, has anyone try to work on it or adjust the carb in any way?

Gas and oil squirting into air box

First of all, there should be no gas/oil mixture on this bike. If it is a crankcase breather and it has gas coming out of it then it means that gas has ran into your engine and diluted the oil. Check the oil and if this is the case then drain and change immediately. As for the gas getting into the crankcase; if you have a float stuck in the open position in your carburetor the gas freely runs through it, then into the cylinder where it then leaks past the piston and into the case. I hope you engine isn't filled with gas but it sounds like it is. If this is what happened then the oil change will fix your problem. If so, take the carburetors apart and make sure the needles and seats are clean and move freely to prevent it from happening again.

Can a fuel tank breather be unclogged for a craftsman 358? Is the breather the same as the vent plug? I didn't see a fuel tank breather listed in the parts diagram.

Many fuel tanks "breathe" through the gas cap. It lets air in, while keeping the fuel from leaking out at the same time. They also will have two fuel lines going to the tank; one will usually have a weighted filter attached to it so that no matter which way you turn the trimmer, it will fall to the bottom of the tank to pull fuel. The other fuel line will be a return line from the carburetor so that excess fuel pumped into the carburetor can be vented back into the fuel tank.

I am getting a gas leak out of the breather tube of the air filter while bike is running.

Make sure that you have a fuel filter on your fuel petcock or add an inline filter to keep rust from holding a float needle open. The carburetor in question may have either has a sunk float or a bad float needle or both. If the offending carburetor also has the vacuum line from the vacuum petcock, you may need to rebuild/replace the petcock if the vacuum diaphragm is leaking gas directly into the manifold/carburetor. Take apart and clean your carburetors. Inspect the needles and diaphragms for damage and replace if necessary.

Oil on spark plug

That is not good. That sometimes indicates mechanical problems with the engine itself. Bad valve guides, bad rings, etc. If the machine is not too old, then maybe the fuel system has pulled oil into it from the breather. The breather is a little metal cover on the side of the engine opposite where the air filter is that allows the engine to "vent" it;s operating vapors back into the fuel sytem to be burned with the gas. It is the equivalent of a pollution control valve on a car. If the engine has been tipped for any length of time (like to remove blade or drain oil), sometimes oil gets into the breather and then is sucked into the carburetor and fuel system. This could be your issue too. At this point, I would recommend, remove the breather and see if it is oil fouled. Clean and reinstall the spark plug and check it again after running a little.

Hi well this is a little odd,however i have come across a similar thing like this before and what fixed it was the tank breather, it was blocked and after a while the tank developed a vacuum and gas wouldn't flow, so i wonder if this is the same or similar worth a try anyway? try loosening the top a little and see? If that works check the breather tube?
Otherwise, i think that it still must be a gas problem and would troubleshoot that area? maybe the float sticks?

Runs good but oil is running out of carb

I would start by removing the valve breather, it is held on by 2 screws, and cleaning it with parts cleaner, blowing it out with compressed air and let it dry.

With the breather removed, you can spray parts cleaner through the long tube running from the valve breather to the carburetor.

You may also need to drain the carburetor bowl by removing the carburetor bowl nut located on the bottom of the carburetor.

If that does not help.The next step would be,Your breater or (PCV) valve is gone. Follow the hose from the carb breather to the crank case breather. There are two screws that holds it into the valve case. Remove and replace it along witht the gasket

Which way to best tilt the mower.

Always the best way to tilt a mower is 1. Away from the carburetor side 2. Away from the oil breather side (side opposite the carburetor). 3. Away from the end of the engine that has the cylinder head and spark plug.That leaves only the crankcase side of the motor. Keep that side down and the spark plug end up...this precludes the engine oil from going places it doesn't need to be . Sideways tilting (although popular) isn't good for it either as the oil can enter the breather and/or the carburetor.
