Question about ViewSonic VX1935wm LCD Monitor

1 Answer

The monitor shows black when I power up my computer in the morning. When I turn the monitor off, then on, I get a picture for a few seconds with analog in the upper right corner, then it goes black again. Pushing the first button once usually corrects the situation. What is going on?

Joyous_81, The very next time it displays a full screen and then goes "black", please point a bright flashilght 1 inch (3cm) from screen to see if unit is displaying anything even though screen is "black". If you see the very faint image of the Win-desktop with icons units internal power supply is in "partial shutdown" mode. If you see nothing units switch-mode-power-supply may be in Full shutdown mode. In either case you will need to spend some time reading in the fixya profiles of "louie12fix", "budmrtn" and "buddymc" and follow the links you find there to learn why unit failed and your options for repair. Yes, you can also try moving and connecting unit to an already fully booted "known good" pc running Windows XP to see if unit still "acts" strange. Let us know how you fair with this unit. Do a second comment here at fixya so all others will know also. 12fixlouie

Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Syncmaster 740n was working fine but has not gone black when i turned it on this morning and now i cant see anything, ive put it onto another computer but its still black and not showing anything sumtimes...

Hello,

This sounds like the inverter power supply has gone out. This is a very common problem for LCD monitors after a few years. In the 740N monitors they used two different power supplies but both had the same problems. If you can open the monitor and take a few pictures of the board and email them to me at tech@ccl-la.com I will tell you what needs to be done on that version of board. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping.

The l226wtq goes black

Try shining a flashlight on the screen, or without the flashlight, try to see if you can distinguish anything on the screen at all, if you do, the backlight is dead, or the monitor has an internal most likely unfixable problem.

No picture on my x5g-komodo7 monitor

A reddish picture is the classic symptom of worn out backlight bulbs.
Sensor circuits usually shut down the power to the bulbs in a second or so.

IC POWER CM2017 LCD MONITOR

Normally when this type of problem happens, the first suspect would be the inverter board, then the filter capacitors and lastly the mainboard.
A defect in one of the lamps and faulty inverter IC may cause the display to shutdown as well. If the lamp is defective, it will send a feedback and cause it to stop producing output signal thus the display just shut off once you switch in ON.

Have you noticed if the monitor gets hot before it turns off?

Please, don't open a monitor and try to repair it yourself. It can be very dangerous and it's not worth getting injured.

Monitor show picture for a few seconds, then turns black

It sounds like the power supply board on your monitor is failing. If it's still under warranty you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer - if not, you might be able to have it repaired at a computer or TV repair shop.

Monitor only stays on for 3 seconds

There is probably a bad capacitor within the monitor that will not allow the picture to "hold" in the on configuration. This will need to be replaced. You can send it back to Phillips, or 17" monitors are pretty cheap these days. I would suggest a Samsung or BenQ. They both carry 3yr warranties.
