I moved my cd player into my new house and i cannot get the CD part to open. When I press the button "open" it says"change error" i don't know what to do. I've tried everything I can...

sounds like you left a cd/cds in it while moving it. you can carefully shake it to attempt to return the cd(s) properly back into the cd tray, or you might have to remove the case cover and remove the cd(s) by hand. if you remove the cover, DO NOT touch any electronics, circuits or microchips inside the unit (you could damage the unit or yourself if you are careless), only touch the loose cd's and or the mechanical tray unit.

CD'S ARE ENTERED IN THE TRAY AND WHEN CLOSE BUTTON IS PRESSED IT DOES NOT SELECT ANY CD AND TRAY CAME OUT AGAIN. MEAN IT DOES NOT PICK THE CD

Does this happen on all cd's you try? Are these original cd's or burned copies? Many times burned copies will not work in certain players, it depends on the formats your player is capable of reading. If the player can not read that particular format it will reject it. Another thing to look at is to make certain there is nothing in the player that shouldn't be there, with the player open flash a light inside to see if there is anything stuck inside. Just a couple of things to try, hope this helps solve your issue. Best of luck.

My NAD L55 CD/DVD player will not open anymore. Put a CD in this morning. It played normally untill the end. When I pushed the 'open' button, it just makes a humming sound and sometimes the things shuts...

Hello,
The tray drawer is opperated via a "Belt" off a drive motor. The hum is good as it would appear the drive moyor is working, but it would appear the drive belt as come off or snapped.
Your nearest audio repair shop could repair this for minimal cost.

I have a LG HT554PH home cinema and would like a region code to enable it to play region 1 dvds. i have just paid £5 from a website and it is no use my dvd player wasnt on the list. there is a reion...

Hi

To make the player as region free, switch on the LG HT554 Player. Push the eject button to open the tray. Now, press “0” on your player 4 times or until the region code settings shows up on your player. It will show the current region code and will then ask for new region code. Press “0” on your remote to set it as a new region code(0=All Regions). Press Enter key on remote, now restart your player and check the player by playing the DVD’s. It should be region free now.
Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

I am trying to hook up my home theater system

marvidson,
With the NAD model that you have and its lack of component or HMDI switching, the only way is to connect your system, sort of, backwards.

The only way to do it is to connect your digital cable box and blueray player directly to the tv, then the audio output from the tv to one of the video inputs on the NAD. The NAD has digital coaxial and toslink inputs so if your tv has one of them as an output, that would give you the best sound to the NAD. If your tv does not have either of those outputs, then you will be limited to the composite outputs (red and white) but that will still give you good sound.

Also, depending on the digital output to input configuration, you could possible find a converter online.

The cd player door will not close when I press the open/close button.

Did you count your disks when it opened? Maybe one is laying inside blocking the tray from going back... did it open o.k. ? If you had to pull the tray out and now it won't go back you may have a bad motor or belt.

Sony CDP-397 Problems

The CD tray is driven by a belt below the tray or on the right hand side (I can't remember the exact model). The belt is probably slipping. Replace the belt and you should be fine. I think you should be able to replace the belt without removing the tray.
I'll look up the model tonight and update this if there are significant differences from what I already stated.
