General error I have an Epson Stylus dx8450 that keeps stoppong and reporting a 'general ERROR' I have a CISS ink system fitted, error seems to be intermitant but very frustrating. Have had CISS system for a couple of years now

Until I get more information I'm taking no further action. The video on youtube seems straightforward but at the moment I'm having problems with compatable inks not being compatable.My printer has gone to the Epson repair centre.

Buy a Universal Resetter for Epson Intelligent Ink Carts and follow the instructions. They work like a dream! Freely available from most third party cartridge dealers and eBay.

Generic carts are sometimes not recognized. Epson's chips are the cause. I solved this problem for a small investment. I purchased a CISS system for about $75.00 [ink included], that's the cost of OEM carts that do not last very long. The CX9400Fax is an Ink Hog, which is why the printer is so cheap. IssueAn 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution
Press the On button to turn the printer off. 
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove all the ink cartridges.
Wait two minutes.
Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on. 
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.
If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer.
