Hi, My computer does not detect my CD PCL-350KM webcam with headset. What can I do?

This problem can occur if:

(1) You previously installed a Logitech Webcam.
(2) The LifeCam drivers are installed incorrectly.

Solution:

Method 1: Update the LifeCam drivers in Device Manager
Open Device Manager.
In Windows Vista, click Start , type devmgmt.msc in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
Expand the following entries:
Sound, video , and game controllers
Imaging Devices
Look for a black exclamation point (!) on a yellow field next to a device. The exclamation point indicates that the device has a problem. Right-click the device, and then click the option that corresponds to your version of Windows:
In Windows Vista, follow these steps:
Click Update Driver Software.
Click Browse my computer for driver software.
Click Browse.
In the Browse For Folder dialog box, move to the following folder and then click OK:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft LifeCam\Driver32
If a driver is not found, try the following folders:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
C:\Windows\Inf
Click Next.
In Windows XP, follow these steps:
Click Update Driver.
Click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.
Click to select the Include this location in the search check box, and then click Browse.
In the Browse For Folder dialog box, move to the following folder and then click OK:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft LifeCam\Driver32
If a driver is not found, try the following folders:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
C:\Windows\Inf
Click Next.

Method 2: Download and install the latest software
To download the most recent version of the LifeCam software, follow these steps:
Visit the following Microsoft Hardware Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downlo...
Click Software for Microsoft internet communications (webcam and headset) products.
In the Select type of product box, select Webcams.
In the Select your product box, select your LifeCam product.
In the Select your operating system box, select your version of Windows.

DONT HAVE A INSTALLATION CD FOR EZONIC MEGA CAM

The EZonic Web Camera people should not be manufacturing or selling their Web Camera's if they won't provide the Web Camera drivers free. Instead people who have purchased the EZonic Web Camera's have to pay for them.
My suggestion to those who have purchased an Ezonic Web Camera is to pitch it and get it from Microsoft
and/or Logitech who provide support and driver availablity. That goes for Sony and a nmber of other
manufactures.

Copy one of the sites below and paste it into your ADDRESS BAR and hit ENTER to check out how easy it is to get the drivers you need to support the Windows operating system (ie. XP, Vista, & Windows 7).

Microdoft Site:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICEbd

Logitech Site:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/&cl=us,en?prodcrid=405

My recommendation: Why pay for the drivers, you'd be money ahead to purchase one of these cameras.

Hope this is of some help and is not only my opinion but plenty of other Technicians. Bud

Windows 98 Driver required for sony cyber-shot dsc-w35

Windows 98 is not officially supported by Sony for the DSC-W35. You can find hacked versions on the web but they may not be stable. You can find a list of supported Operating Systems here at the Sony website. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSCW35&LOC=3

I would suggest trying to use the Windows ME drivers. Windows ME was based on Windows 98 so the drivers for most applications are virtually identical. I have used 8 different drivers from other vendors in situations like this and it worked out fine. However, please be aware that since it is not officially supported it can cause interoperability options with your Windows 98 system.

This is the best suggestion I have. By no means should you get Windows ME, it was one of the worst versions of Windows released. Lots of bugs and there are less drivers for this operating system than your Windows 98.

USB Troubleshooting - Windows

Many problems relating to camera connection issues relate to hardware other than the Nikon camera. There are numerous compatibility issues between USB Controllers, motherboards, main CPU chips and different versions of the Windows operation systems. Below are some helpful links. The Microsoft web site has information regarding USB Troubleshooting for Windows 98, Windows 98 SE and Windows ME. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q263/2/18.ASP The Microsoft web site also has information regarding general compatibility between Windows and different USB controllers. Select "USB controllers" on the link and then find your USB controller on the list, if your controller is not listed as compatible or "logo" with your current operating system you may need to upgrade your OS, or work with alternate hardware. http://www.microsoft.com/hwdq/hcl/default.asp The Compaq web site has information regarding issues with their Deskpro 2000/4000 USB and Windows 2000. http://www.compaq.com/support/techpubs/customer_advisories/DG000117_CW01_0.html The Microsoft web site has information regarding issues between AMD Processors and Windows SE. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q240/0/75.ASP One method for restoring USB functionality is to remove the currently installed USB Controller (from the Device Manager). Be sure to have the Windows installed disks available as you may be prompted for them. To accomplish this: Open the Device Manager (right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" Windows 98 and ME have a "Device Manager" Tab Windows 2000 and XP will have a button in the "Hardware" tab Click the "+ " sign next to item named "Universal Serial Bus controller" and highlight the "Unviversal Host controller" found beneth it. Once the item has been highlighted press "Delete" on the keyboard Refresh the Device Manager With Windows 2000 and XP choose "Scan for Hardware changes" from the "Action" menu. With Windows 98 or ME click "Refresh" If you were prompted for the install CD or to restart the computer there were definite driver changes made and any USB issues may be resolved.
