Question about Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 Notebook
I recently tripped over my laptop power cord and it bent the end right off. I had it resoldered and it was working fine until yesterday it just shut down and went dead. No LED's , nothing. I've removed the battery and held down power button etc. with no luck.
Checking the power supply with a multimeter reads fine, but the internal jack seemed loose, would it likely be the jack causing the power problem or have I shorted the motherboard? I've opened up the laptop but am unsure what to test.
Sounds like you already determined it, but if you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.
The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.
Hope this helps.
