SOURCE: where can i get a manual for a briggs and stratton

You can download a manual for the engine from Briggs & Stratton's web site - you just need the numbers off the blower shroud. No manual exists for the actual mower.

SOURCE: mountfield petrol mower HP470 problem with

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times or spraying starting fluid into the carburetor, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.
Please do not forget to rate me,
Thanks
Good Luck,
I hope this helped

SOURCE: my briggs and stratton 675 lawn mower won't

I am guessing that this is your ENGINE model number: 126K02-0512-B1
Using this reference:
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=briggs_and_stratton&mn=126K02-0512-B1&dn=35820003
Check to make sure that the choke item number 97 is not sticking.
Then remove the float bowl nut and float bowl assy. Clean the fuel passages in the base of the carb with carb cleaner including the area where the bowl nut screws into. There is a fixed jet orifice that must be cleaned in the threaded area. Also clean the visible brass tubes in the top of the carb.
Check fuel flow with the bowl removed. You should have a good fuel flow with the float angled down and as you lift it level fuel flow should STOP. If you do not have fuel flow... remove the float pin, drop the float and needle and celan out the hole where the float needle was. Remove the main fuel line and check for fuel flow. Use carb cleaner in the hole where the fuel line connects. If you do not have feul flow from the fuel tank.. check the tank port and look for any kind of in line filter. If you find a filter... check the line before and after the filter for fuel flow. Once you have established fuel flow Reassemble carb

Check the spark.... if you have no spark
First check the thermostat by just disconnecting it. Item 291
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=briggs_and_stratton&mn=126K02-0512-B1&dn=35820004
Then retest your spark. If you have spark with the thermostat disconnected the themostat is bad. (Most engines use a low oil level sensor..... this one uses the thermostat)
There is an electrical contact on the throttle plate that is grounded when the throttle is selected to off. Make sure the throttle plate lever moves off of the contact when you advance the throttle. ALSO... there is another ground / contact on the engine brake. Make sure that when the engine brake is released that the brake lever moves away from the ignition grounding contact.

The above are the basics.... If after doing ALL of the above you still have problems with ignition then suspect the ignition components.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

ethanol additive in gasoline causes deterioration of fuel system parts, especially primer bulbs. Needs to be replaced...relatively easy for mechanically minded or bring to dealer. Check Amazon for parts...they are cheaper than most dealerships.

Hope this helps....

On a briggs & stratton mod#122T02-1012-B1 does the primer bulb have a hole in it

No primer bulb should have a hole in it. Petrol will escape and become a fire hazard.

The 'primer' doesn't work on my mower's Briggs & Stratton engine. Is there an easy fix?

You can try pumping primer bulb 10-15 times instead of 3 or 4 that manual probably suggests. We have a craftsman 22 inch cut push mower with a 3.5 H.P. BRIGGS &STRATTON engine and if you don't prime it at least a dozen times it will not start. It is possible that you have a small hole in your primer bulb in which case it can't create suction to bring gas to carburator. If this is the problem you can purchase a new bulb and seal at most larger SEARS stores or service centers.I would guess that if you have manual for mower you can get part number and phone number to get new parts .Hope this helps. Thanks

How do you remove the primer bulb on a model 10a902 Briggs and Stratton mower engine?

Look at the outside of the plastic housing where the primer bulb is inserted, you will see an open area where there are 2 tabs, one on each side, using a small screwdriver, push these tabs inward to release them and slide the whole thing out of the hole including the primer bulb. The new primer bulb normally comes with a new mounting ring if you purchase it from a lawnmower dealer
