Check for a blockage in the lines---sometimes spiders will build a cocoon in the tubes.

Yellow flame how do you adjust it to a normal blue/yellow tip flame

You need to introduce more air to the flame. There is an adjustment near the venturi which is just past the control knob. This is a job best left to a gas fitter who will also adjust minimum flame height at the same time. Quick job, less than an hour.

Low flame on one side

If your grill is older and has seen several seasons check for obstructions elsewhere the venturi is only one place for problems, check for hose kinks loose connections. If this is in a cold weather area, it maybe just low pressure. Also look for collected/ponded water in the burner tubes, especially if the flames are yellow.

Full tank, very low flow/flame, how do I clean venturi, if this is the problem. Unable tp remove V-shaped tent over burners

I suspect that your problem is related to the grill's regulator. But, there is a solution. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and the burners to high for one minute, then turn them OFF. Also, disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes, After 5 minutes, reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, turn ON and light the burner farthest from the tank, first. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem.

If it didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can get one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. Take your old one with you, for comparison purposes.

The V-shaped Tent (also called a Flame Tamer) should just lift up and out. According to your Owners Manual, they are not attached in any way, They just sit there, Once they are out of the way, you can access and remove the burners for cleaning. The Venturi is part of the burner, where it fits over the burner orifice. It will have a slotted opening. It mixes the gas to air, so that you get an even, clean burning flame. Spiders love to build nest in them. An old toothbrush works well in cleaning the Venturi's .

Hope all this info was of some help to you and will get you back grilling real soon. Please let me know. Thanks.

I am uncertain as to why my barbeque smokes black and leaves a soot film on the whole inside of the barbeque and on the meat that I am cooking. It is certainly a cheap model but I replaced the burner and...

Can you see the smoke coming from the tip of the flame itself? Did you not have this problem before you replaced the burners? If yes to both, then the problem is with the venturi tube of the burner not providing enough air. The venturi tube is the part of the tube where the gas jet from the valve first enters it. There are some holes that control the air/gas mix by their configuration and size. Perhaps you have the wrong model replacement burner. The orifice (very small hole) out of which the gas shoots into the venturi, and the venturi tube itself are both designed slightly differently for use with Propane (bottled) or Natural (piped) gas. Perhaps your new burner has an adjustable venturi to allow more air. If so, remove the rocks so that you can see the flame and adjust by trial and error.

Flame coming back up venturi

The venturi is open to wide. If you have thre manual it should explain how to make the adjustments. If not, adjust so air intake (slot on bottom half of valve) is smaller.

I have a goodman gmp100-4 gas furnace and the gas comes on but shuts off in around 30 seconds, then tries again and the same thing... can i get some help please?

On the last gas venturi tube there should be a flame sensor located in the flame to prove it exsists, if its coroded the spark can,t jump back thru the moisture molecues in the gas to prove it has a flame to tell the circuit board to keep the gas comming. Just reomve the flame snsor and sand itand replace itback. T. Y. V. M.!

Oven flame too high.

Take a 1/2 inch open end wrench and tighten the orifice on the oven gas valve. Then adjust the air shutter on the venturi tube.

Gas grill prob.

Barbecue Repair Parts Don't let spiders crawl into your venturis, yearly maintenance part are available. 27897.jpg?qlt=80&cell=325,325&cvt=jpeg If you notice that your Barbecue is getting hard to light or that the flame isn't as strong as it should be, take the time to check and clean the VENTURIS. 27898.jpg?qlt=80&cell=325,325&cvt=jpeg In some areas of the country, spiders or small inserts have been known to create "flashback" problems. The spiders spin webs, build nests, and lay eggs in the BARBECUE VENTURI TUBE (s)obstructing the flow of gas to the BURNER. The backed-up gas can ignite in the venturis behind the control panel. This is known as a flashback, and it can damage your Barbecue and even cause injury. To prevent flashbacks and ensure good performance the BARBECUE BURNER and VENTURI assembly should be removed from the grill and cleaned before use whenever the BARBECUE has been idle for an extended period of time.

Also, when you lite the BBQ, make sure that you turn the gas on at the tank, wait a couple of minutes and then turn the knob on and light the burner. This is to make sure that the pressure is regulated and sufficient prior to lighting.

Hope this helps!
