Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph problem

I put my memory card in the camera and took it out. It was fine, but now when I put the memory card in it does not stay...its like the spring broke. How do I fix this? It still works if I close the door but otherwise it won't stay in the camera? What do I do

Gee that's a bit of bad luck ,

It would be a very fiddly thing to attempt to repair , at the risk of damaging & losing the Memory card function itself...Rendering the camera useless !

Repair by a technician to replace the ejector mechanism is probably possible , not sure what it would cost .

Try increasing the thickness of the card itself very gradually with sticky tape , to make it less likely to fall out easily.
Try not to leave curled edges with the sticky tape , begin & finish the wrap at the center. so it does'nt get Too stuck !!

Canon SD630 any sd card i put in it over 2gp says memory error

The SD630 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. Larger cards are actually SDHC cards and will not work in the SD630.

The camera will only work witha 1GB memory card, we have tried to install a 5GB memory card and the camera shows "memory card error" yet when we try to install the same memory card in another...

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible. Anything over 2GB is SDHC.

My pc does not read pics from my canon sd 630

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Regards.

Camera will not power on with a memory card installed.

1. Try another memory card and contact the memory card manufacturer 2. The PowerShot SD630 requires repair service.

Format restoration

Hey seasea911,
I've read nothing but good things about Art Plus Digital Recovery software, but if it's not working I would keep trying different software until I find one that works. I would make sure your SD card is not set to the locked position before trying to recover your images.

Sincerely,
Allan
