You may have an intake valve staying open or the spark timing may be off from a slipped flywheel and key. Can spray liguid wrench in the intake to coat valve stem . You would have to take off the flywheel hold down nut and pull starter engage ring to see if the groove in the flywheel matches the groove in the crankshaft. Ive had blowers, weed eaters, tillers and all kinds of small engines break a flywheel key for no apparent reason. Sometimes they are just a little loose and wear out or snap.

I have an MTD 611 snow blower thats getting too much gas and its leaking from the carb even when not running

If this is the carburetor:

Check to make sure the float bowl on the bottom that has the nut on it, is tight. You can also remove that and make sure the float is not stuck or saturated with gasoline.

What causes a backfire thru the muffler when I shut off the engine 10hp Toro snow blower

Eighter the neddle valve isn't sealing correctly witch is the fuel shut off for the float bowl or the choke isn't completely opening .
In eighter case your getting to much fuel the engine can't burn it all thus a back fire to RICH

I have a toro 98 cc powerlite snow blower. did not drain fuel after storing for the summer. drained fuel, put new mixed fuel in and engine wouldn't start. replaced spark plug, cleaned carb and bottom

cleaning the carb was a good thing if done properly. fuel tarnishes over time and this tarnish destroys diaphragms in carbs and also plugs up the jets. If you used compressed air at a high velocity then you may have damaged the internal check valves in the carb. Also check your fuel filter and air filter

S 140 snow blower

It sounds like the float is stuck, or at least the needle valve controlled by the float is stuck open, therefore not stopping the flow of gas into the carbureator. Time to rebuild the carb.

Float stuck on huayi carb

usually not the float. there is a needle attached to the float that slides up a small hole and against a rubber seat. the seat over time becomes sticky and sticks the needle up and in place blocking the main fuel entrance. you can pick up a rebuild kit from you local small engine shop. you will need the 5 digit model number located on a sticker by the wheel axle....

Wont start , flooding black spewing all over snow ,backfires

Sounds like your machine is really rich.(getting way too much fuel). From what i get from you're posting I would think the needle is probably stuck and not seating properly. Lets try easy and cheap first. Remove spark plug, Try pulling the engine over or cranking if its electric start. There shouldn't be liquid coming out of spark plug hole. Take a screw driver by the shank and use the handle to strike the carb, if the needle is just stuck this may cure the problem. If not you may have to disassemble the carb. With the float out try shaking it, is there any gas inside the float? (you can hear it when you shake it). If so replace the float. Hope this helps.

Wont start unless i pour gas in carb throat, MTB snow blower. float ok, gas is good to feed .MTB snow blower. I'm sure carb problem, what to do next?

depending if you have a ajustment on the bowl you will need to ajust to get the right mixture if this will not fix your problem then you will need your carb rebuilt
