Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Microwave Matt thankyou for your quick reply. Kitchenaid Model YKCMS1555RSSO When i spoke with a tech on the phone today (at the store where i purchased it) he stated "well it doesn't sound like the Magnetron because it would be on the left hand side." Well what do you think? Would they have a part like that sitting right under a plastic cover? The cover that started to melt is on the right hand side. I have tried to go to differnt sites to see a schematic of the microwave but have not found anything. I hate taking something to a person and not know what they are talking about. :) This microwave cost me approx $550.00 Can before taxes. Anything you can help with is great. ?????? Confused in Canada

I'm not familiar with the particular model, but having had a look at the Kitchen Aid website, it would appear that the KMCS1555 series are countertop models, and all appear to have the oven controls on the right-hand side. Is this how your is?

If this is the case, then that is where I would expect to find the magnetron. It is unlikely to be on the other side as the housing does not appear to be big enough to accomodate it.

As for it being under a panel, that is exactly where I would expect to find it. The microwaves cannnot pass through the metal of the oven compartment, so through the plastic panel is the way they get in.

This is what a typical magnetron in a domestic oven looks like:

(Although yours might look different, the clues are the cooling fins and the high-voltage connection)

You might want to have a look inside yourself and see if this is what is behind the panel.

Vent fan turns on by its self and it will not turn off

(I'd say it's a failed or failing thermostat on the control circuit board or the hood TCO / thermal cutout / thermostat)

And if FixYa would inform us experts when as persons responds to a request for more information, we could reply back quickly.

But since (for some reason) they won't, you'll just have to post a new help request.

But please be sure to include the full model number from the tag on the oven, and exact symptoms - what it's doing or not doing, and when.

I purchased a hinari s/s microwave 77505883999 from tj hughes but it had no manual with it or the glass turntable and ring for inside microwave so they told me to go online and put in details of micro and...

Hello,

Are you sure the number you have given is the model #? It looks more like a serial number. Most of the Hinari model numbers start with letters (eg. MX or EMX)

I found a website in the UK that sells parts for Hinari Microwaves ... > http://www.espares.co.uk/search/microwaves/hinari/p/1095/1032

Hopefully that helps...

How do i fix a broken microwave handle on a kitchen aid? model# KHMS155LSS0

Your handle can be purchased from Sears at the link below, part number 7 depending on your color and finish A - C for $36.18. You can also view the schematic for the door and based on the picture, you can see how to disassemble the door by removing screw (Part Number 8).

Microwave Model KHMS155LWH3 is showing a trouble code F-2 What does it mesn?

F2 is saying the key pad has a problem:
See this tech sheet:
https://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/Tech%20Sheet%20-%208205612.pdf

The touch/keypad can be found here: (Item 9) BLACK
http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/microwave-repair/19054-kitchen-aid-microwave-error-code-f2.html
I am assuming yours is white but the model number does not cross for some reason to a white control panel. When I cross it to your model it comes up Biscuit color ITEM 3 here:
($122.18)
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5133020&diagram_id=948095#d948095

I would check to make sure that no keys are stuck by rubbing your 1st finger FLAT across the membranes to unstick them and then check inside the unit to make sure the flexible ribbon connector is properly mated to the control board. Inside the unti there is usually a tech sheet inside the cabinet stored in a 4 X 6 envelope that may give you some insight on the keypad error. It should be Item 1 here as far as location only:

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Cant set the clock

hi
In most brandsof microwave oven, you set the clock by one of these combinations of key presses:

Clock > time digits > Clock

Clock > Clear > time digits > Clock

Clock > time digits > Start

If that doesn't work, please reply back with your brand and full model number.
All the best and do rate this answer if u r satisfied.
thankyou

KitchenAid microwave

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

And please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.
