Question about Avaya For Communication Manager4690 IP Speakerphone w/Mics (700289838) (230506682001)

4690 Issues Installing an S8300 with 9600 series phones, along with 10 4690 IP Conference phones---the 4690 phones are getting the proper IPAdd and VLAN but never find the call server. The display shows 'Unknown GK'. No other phones are having this issue.

You have to manually enter the callserver IP address (CLAN card). The 4690 are not in the 46xxsettings file.

This usually means the phone is not receiving enough power. You either have a power issue in the electrical of the new room or the power adapter is not functioning correctly. Try plugging the phone back into the old office to see if it comes up correctly, if it does their is some sort of issue with the electrical supply in the new room. If you have another conference phone try using that power adapter on the non-working phone.

MITEL 5303 Conference Phone question: during connection of a few numbers and 1 number is busy - how do you drop that call without dropping all parties connected?


I believe that if you reach a busy signal, you can hang up. The conference should ring you back and the rest of the conference will be there.



Here's what the documentation shows from within the help of a 3300 ICP/MCD...



a 5303 is to be treated just like a 2500 series set...

2500, 5302 IP Phone, SUPERSET 401, SUPERSET 401+, and SUPERSET 4001 telephones:

To form a Conference when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing Conference:

  1. Press Flash or flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the number of the next party.

  3. Wait for an answer.

  4. Press Flash or Flash the switchhook.

  5. Dial the Conference Call Feature Access Code.

To Leave a Conference:

  • Hang up.


2500 telephone:

To split a Conference and speak privately with the original party:

  1. Flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the Conference Call Split Feature Access code.

How do I start a conference call on a Mitel 5303 Conference Phone? It states it only hosts up to 8-10 people.


I'm assuming you are using this on a 3300 ICP. In that case, the phone system is only able to do 8 party conference calls without an external Conference server.
You can dial the first number, press the flash button, dial the next number, dial the feature code (get from your vendor), repeat until you have all parties as part of the call.

The 5310 IP conference unit works much easier than this phone. A conference bridge such as Audio Web Conference with the appropriate licensing will allow for extended conference calls... it will also allow you to record the call for later "off-air" participation.

is it an out bound / inbound avaya set ? being used only on soft phone or have hard phone capability too ?

That is something you have to set up with the line provider. Partner can not send caller ID information

I have a Avaya 4690 ip phone. when I reseat the ethernet cables for the phone after initializing it comes up with "registration error". How do I fix that?


That phone is registerring with a server. There is nothing you will be able to do. You need to contact your system administrator

Group paging on an ip office on ip sets


using manager application, go to hunt groups, one of them will be the paging group,, make sure all that you want to page are added in the group and the box next to each one is checked

Talk to your system admin. You have a Definity system, which is too complicated for online help. The phone isnt seeing either the license server or the Phone system. There is more than likely an incorrect IP address somewhere.
