Question about HP Officejet 4215v All-in-One Printer

Scanner - says I need to install or run software.

How do I get the scanner part of my all-in-one officejet to work? I keep getting a message to install or run software. Printer and FAX part work fine . . scanner has worked in the past. I have connected my printer to another computer. Could that be a problem? Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello, you definately need to go to the HP Support Website and Choose Drivers and Software. Then, in the First Box at the top, Choose "Automatically Scan My System" option. NOTE: Be sure to have your device connected to computer and powered on. This option allows HP to scanyour system and install any/all updated software and drivers automatically..

Cherokee, You must first disconnect the device. Then uninstall the drivers. Reboot the computer. Reinstall the drivers. Reconnect the device and allow Windows sufficient time to auto detect and load up the drivers. Then only will the scanner work properly.

HP OFFICEJET J5780 HOW TO GET SCANNER TO WORK


To get the scanner working this is what you should do. First, do not install the software for Officejet All-in-one J5780. Instead of this, install HP Officejet All-in-one J5700, you can get it from the HP website. I do not know why but this software makes the scanner work. You can then install J5780 which will delete some of the old files but will keep the scan file on.

Scanner not working


Have you installed the scanning software for the printer? If the software was installed what is the error message. if it says "scanner error" try to scan and check the scanner glass if there is a light if there is no light then the scanning mechanism is not working properly.

I had this problem too, and after a while just gave up on the uesless HP interface, and went to the simple but efficient Windows Fax and Scan program on the Start>Programs menu.

How do I get my HP Officejet 6210 all in one to scann?


Usually all the drivers are always installed when you first install the drivers. But may be the drivers are corrupted. Try to reinstall the device by removing and uninstalling and then reinstall. It should help you.

Make sure you are logged in as Administrator when installing drivers, in order to write files in the system area.

Problems with installing a plustek 7200i film scanner


Delete the software. restart computer Come off line. Disable the anti virus software and fire wall. Now reinstall the software. Check out that is runs before reinstating A/V and firewall.
