Stihl MS180 chain saw wont start

How long since it was last used? Could be stale fuel. Flush tank, fill with fresh fuel and try again. May take a good dozen pulls to clear the fuel line. If not that then check spark by removing plug, connect to lead and hold electrode end to cycl head while pulling it over(might need a second pair of hands, don't do it if theirs fuel every where!) either that or it's flooded. Turn choke off, hold throttle wide open and pull it until it starts.

I have a 026stihl that won't start

It would be a good idea to check the compression first to make sure there is enough to make the saw run. A person can run in circles trying to figure out an issue if the compression is below 100 psi, there should be about 150 psi. Older Stihl saws are also notorious for cracked fuel lines. Check the fuel line to be sure it is ok, also check the spark.

Im having problems starting an MS250 Stihl chainsaw. Can you give

Chances are good that the compression is not to blame. I would look at:
1. Bad Fuel
2. Fuel Line/filter
3. Carb dirty/mis adjusted
3. Spark Plug
4. Ignition

Stihl 021 is hard to start, runs very briefly after ignition.

My guess is since you have ignition, it is a fuel issue: 1- the carb or the fuel lines or pump are plugges with dirt, 2- fuel pump is not working,3- carb needs cleaned 4- air filter is plugged which is very common also. When the saws sit for 6 months or so, the cylinder tends to get gummed up cause our gas is SO good & when this happens with one of my saws, I put spray lube in the spark plug hole & turn it over. When I am thinking, I store my saws with the gas tank down, so that gas isnt running into the carb/engine.
