Question about Mitsubishi WD-57731 57" Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Relaced bulb, now have problem with picture

The screen on my mitsubishi wd-57731 started going dim for a few days, and finally the red light came on. I relaced the bulb and now the picure is plenty bright but there is an area at the bottom center of the screen that is hazy or out of focus.I figured it must have something to do with the lamp since it was not like this before.so I tried putting a complete new lamp housing and lamp in but it is still the same.also cleaned off the back side of the screen, but no results. any ideas?

Doe sit seem like there is a "glow" around lightly colored items on dark screen. if so suspect the optical engine has internal contamination( dirt or dust) it is almost impossible to clean it then put all back together and not introduce any other contamination i suggest replacing optical engine under these circumstances.
