Xerox printer and windows vista

Xerox workcentre pro 416 S and my computers are all now vista except one

Use workcentre pro 265 drivers. worked fine for me and is embedded w/ the vista os.

I also use the workcentre pro 265 drivers. it allows me to print from all 3 trays and the bypass just fine.

You might have some luck using windows 7.
some drivers are available in 7 and not in vista.
Otherwise, there is not Xerox support for this model. You need to buy a new Xerox machine, but first find out what current drivers are available even in windows 7. Do not count on windows 7 64 bit. Windows 7 is still junk, no matter what they say about it, it is a pig with lipstick on it.

I have looked into this . There is not a driver for that product.
Xerox also lists it as a "legacy" product, which means they do not activly market, nor provide phone support for, and therefore will not be writing a Vista driver for the machine.
I am not sure of a Third party Driver is available.
Wish I had a better answer for you.

My workcentre pro 416 is printing all copies as all black.


It sounds to me like the High Voltage Power Supply, Biasing Ground, or Blanking Exposure Lamp may be a fault. You could also have a problem with the Digital Scanner unit. But, there is nothing that you can do yourself: EXCEPT: If the unit takes a Toner Cartridge that includes the drum, I would try replacing that first. Then if no joy, your going to have to call out the big guns. Good Luck!!

Need to reset replace drum message on Xerox Workcentre Pro 416


You can replace the chip on the drum unit. Or the drum unir itself.
Google a business called " the parts drop". They will have both the chip and or the drum cartridge. It is not resettable with a diagnostic code.

You can try this driver. It may be quirky at first but it should work for basic printing needs. There is a PCL6 and post script try both sometimes it will take one but not the other. Its vista flip a coin :) -Phil

try reseting the nvram. if no luck after that try changing the image control board.. with another one if it's avaliable.(maybe you have another machine around. If not then conect your printer to the network reset the printer so you can get an ip address.. usually it's a 192.168.*.* Then type that ip address 192.168.*.* into the top of your web address bar and you should be able to see you printer. If not i would change the image control board because it might be bad.

This would be the first thing to try..


  • Press the 0 and 8 keys simultaneously and switch on.
  • Input 400 using the numeric keys, and press the enter key.
  • Change displayed status counter to 0, and press the enter key.
  • Switch the machine off then on. Check that the machine returns to the normal standby mode. If the machine does not return to normal standby mode, perform the following checks.
