I want to transfer data (waypoint files) from my gps (Furuno 1650wf) to my pc and vice versa using a memory card. I have read the instructions in the furuno manual and the Andren software manual but standard compact flash cards wont fit in the plotter and I cant seem to find what I need online. What do I need to do?

    I want to tranfer data between my 1650wf plotter and my pc using a memory chip but I can't find a memory chip that will fit in the plotter. Do they make a memory chip (not a chart map chip) that will fit in the plotter? or is there another way to get around this problem?

    I need a memory chip that will fit in my 1650wf Furuno plotter to transfer data between plotter and pc. Compact Flash wont fit in plotter, sd wont fit in plotter, plotter has no USB port

    I need a memeory chip that will fit in my 1650wf plotter to transfer data between plotter and pc. section 10 of the manual talks about doing this so I know its possible but can't find chip that fits (i.e. compact flash comes closest but doesn't fit, SD and others aren't even close)

I've had a quick look at the manual and you need to connect the actual unit to a PC to transfer data not via a card, you can connect it with either a 9 pin serial port or a 25 pin RS232 port. Check the manual chapter 11 section 12/13 for configuration
You might have difficulty with todays computers as serial and RS232 ports a quite old standards and you may not have these ports on your PC, although you can buy a serial to USB or RS232 to USB adapters

Hope this helps

    You should have serial or RS232 cables that were hopefully supplied with the unit

    There is no other way than connecting the actual unit to a computer with a cable as I have said previously, the card this unit uses is a Furuno MiniChart Card and only works in these fishfinder devices. It is not a standard type memory card that you are trying to use so you will not be able to transfer data using the method you are suggesting.

    You need a 'Mini RAM Card listed here:

    It's listed on the Accessories tab under Miscellaneous Accessories, it's $295

Hi! Does your gps has usb port? If it has, then you can link your gps and pc via usb cord and then you can start transferring data. If no usb port present on your gps, I suggest that you buy a separate flash card reader for pc to access the gps files. Hope this helps and have a good one!

To transfer through the network press...
MENU->SYSTEM CONFIGURATION->DATA TRANSFER->RECEIVE DATA THROUGH NETWORK

Select the host that you want to transfer from, then choose what you want to transfer (Waypoints and routes, marks and lines), then hit the receive key. This is how it's done on NavNet 1 - I have not seen the VX2 manual but I presume it is the same.

For radar overlay, you will need a heading sensor. The overlay feature on the DISP screen is greyed out if no heading data is being received.

You can use a number of software programs to transfer from Garmin to Furuno, but you will need to do some editing as the formats are different between the two (8 character names for Garmin, 6 for Furuno) I used GPS Utility ( www.gpsu.co.uk ).

Hope this help to solve it.

Time and date data is transmitted from the GPS satellites. It's only necessary to set the UTC offset for your area, 12/24 time format, and date format preferred. These settings are in the general menu of your unit.

You want to transfer data from phone to PC or vice versa???
The PC may be having a data card reader (place to insert the memory card in)? Insert the card there and from My Computer click on the additional drive that has appeared after insertion of the card and use it as a normal drive to copy and pasted any files. Only you have to bear in mind the formats that the phone uses else the files would be on the memory card but the phone will not be able to read them. You must know all the types of files that the phone is capable of using/reading. Mostly it is JPG for pictures and .3gp for videos. But most phones these days do read .mp4 files too.

How can i download from pc to mobilephone

You have a few options;
  1. Purchase a USB Data Cable and download Nokia PC Suite from Nokia website. You can then transfer items from your PC to Phone and vice versa using the Data Cable.
  2. Purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle and downbload Nokia PC Suite from the Nokia website. You can then transfer items from your PC to Phone and vice versa using the Blutooth.
  3. Purchase a Memory Card Reader and simply drag and drop items onto the memory card using your PC, then put the memory card back in the phone.

Gps is saying internal battery ng and ng for data back up and all my waypoint are gone and no fix position

There is an internal 3 VDC battery that needs to be replaced in the unit. Any marine electronics repair shop should be able to perform this for minimal cost. We charge $75 for the repair. Please contact me if you need any more help or want to send the unit to me for repair: kevin@sun-me.net.

Picture transfer

hi confused123,

you don't need to be the most computer literate just to transfer pictures from your mobile to your PC or vice-versa..all you just need are: your USB cable and your V3i.

There are a lot of ways of transferring data but this one i am going to tell is the most easiest way.

From PC to Mobile Memory Card Only (Vice-Versa)
Using USB Cable
1. On your V3i, go to:
-> Settings
-> Connection
-> USB Settings
-> Default Connection
-> select Memory Card(if you have one)
2. Connect your mobile to your PC. Your PC should detect your mobile memory card. If Pop-up window appears asking for some actions you should take, you may cancel it or select the "Open Folder" list from the list box.
3. If no pop-up window appears, Open your Windows Explorer or the My Computer at your Desktop.
4. You must see your mobile memory card now from the list of icons. It will look something like a drive letter "E" or "F". If you have a single hard drive with no partitions, single CD or DVD drive, your hard drive is your letter "C", your CD or "DVD" is your letter "D" and your mobile memory card will be your letter "E".(weew! This is the reason why I don't take a teaching career).
5. Open that drive and you will see one folder inside named "Picture". Open it.
6. Inside that folder you should see your pictures from your mobile memory card. (Unless it is empty)
7. Your pictures is now ready for transfer.

Transferring files is easy as copy/cut-and-paste. You can transfer pictures from PC to your mobile as easy as that and vice-versa.

If this solution is inappropriate, please notify me and i'll try to make a revision of my "lesson-plans"!

I hope this would help!

Hi..i have a problem with the memory.

Some times phone memory data has support files in memory card and vice versa. Your 6233 have just 6MB phone memory. Try to transfer the phone memory data to memory card or PC. Check which made your memory full. Check whether you have Blue tooth data in inbox. if your Phone memory is full you cannot perform some phone application. try to erase some un neccessary data in phone mode itself withourt connecting to Pc suite applications. after data removal try to connect with Pc suite. Now you may transfer your phone data. if problem still persists contact authorised service personnel. All the best !
