Most likely you don't. But, you can create a new one if you know the password to the router. Most Netgear products use admin as the user name and, by default, password as the password. Out of the box, the address of an N300 is 192.168.1.1 If you open a browser on a WIRED connection and type in that address, it will open a box to log into the Netgear. If you can't remember THAT password, then you only recourse is to reset the router and start over.

Once you log into the router there's a tab down the left side that says Wireless Settings. In it, you will have a list of the wireless security and, if WEP the passphrase will be displayed. For any other type of security, just pick a new one. Instructions are on the right side of the screen if you need help.

Lost my Wireless name (SSID) lost my Security Passphrase

1. Open your internet browser.
2. Type in 192.168.0.1 and press enter.
3. When prompted, type in admin for username and password for password. That should get you into all of the settings, where you can view your wireless network's SSID and security passphrase.
4. CHANGE your username and password. This is how hackers access your network!

I want to put a pasword on my netgear to stop people using my internet its unsecure at the moment

1. Use an ethernet cable to connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the NETGEAR router.
2. In a web browser, enter the router's IP address - either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 by default.
3. When prompted for a Username and Password, enter the default username and password (admin; password) unless you have already changed it. NETGEAR recommends changing the default password to increase the security of your network.
4. Select Wireless Settings from the Setup menu in the left-hand navigation bar.
Under SSID Name, Give a Unique name for Wireless N/w

5. Under Security Options, select WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key).
6. Under Security Encryption (WPA-PSK) > Passphrase, enter a passphrase.
7. * The passphrase may either be a string of 64 hexidecimal digits, or word/phrase of 8-63 ASCII characters.
* SAVE or KEEP NOTE of the passphrase - it will be required to connect wirelessly to your network.
8. Click Apply to save your settings.
9. Scan and Connect to your Wireless N/w on your Wireless Computer with your Password

My wireless HP prn stopped working suddenly with NetGear router

You need to go into the netgear router settings online with a computer that is attached to the router. You enter this:192.168.0.1 in the address bar to gain access. You need to know your username and password to gain access to the menu. Then check the wireless settings to see or change the passphrase. Good Luck

Netgear wireless router

on your computer, open any browser, type 192.168.1.1 or 192.18.0.1
on the login window, type admin for the username & password for the password. (assuming you haven't set the router to have a custom username/ password.)
click wireless settings under setup menu. under security options, select WEP, choose authentication type as automatic, encryption strength is 64-bit (or 128-bit)
select key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength) click apply. Please note down these values - You must later configure your wireless computers with the same setting.
you can also select WPA-PSK, as the passphrase, just choose that option on the security options, type in a word or group of printable characters in the passphrase box. it must be 8-63 characters in length, hit apply.
