Try updating the BIOS files on the laptop first...newer BIOS files are being written to include instructions to the motherboard to run the fan all the time. If that doesn't work, there is a program called speedfan that you can manually adjust the fans speeds and monitor the temps inside the laptop.

Fuse diagram-Is there a relay for the cooling fan and what # is it on the inside cover of the relay box. I do not have an owners manual for the car. 2003 Dodge Stratus SE 4dr 2.4L DOHC. Thanks.

disconnect the plug at the cooling fan motor and run jumper wires from the battery to the motor if it does not run then the fan motor needs replacing. if it does then your on the right track with the relay. on the bottom of the cover you remove to get to the relays they sometimes have the relay listed. if you have access to a scan tool you can command the PCM to turn on the cooling fan. if it commands the fan and the fan does not run then you start by checking at the relay.

The fan on my 2004 Grand Prix quit working 2 weeks ago. Checked fuses and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

if its the cooling fan at the rad then your talking about then if you disconnect the plug on the fan and run jumper wires to it directly from the battery it should run.also check the plug connection to make sure its in good condition and no corrosion.if you jump the fan motor and it doesn`t run tap the motor it should run either way if it doesn`t then the cooling fan motor needs replacing.

I have a 94 mustang with an electric fan. The fan works perfectly when i start the car and its cold. when the temp of the water gets up to about 185 the fan kicks on . it can idle all day and the fan works...

is the car running hot? some cooling fans never come on going down the road because the air comjng through the front of the vehicle keeps the car cool enough that it doesn't need to come on. but if it is overheating then you may want to check the cooling fan relay.

2001 pontiac grand am cooling fan will not come on unless the A/C is on.

you could have a cooling fan relay problem that is not allowing the fan to work.also it could be the temp sensor for the computer that is not showing the computer the motor is hot enough to turn on the cooling fan by commanding the relay on.

AIR DOES NOT SEEM TO BE COOL ENOUGH LAST YEAR HAD SERVICE COME AND PUT FREEON IN

hi,
If the the AC doesn't get the cooling then the main reason will lack of freon gas.
Is the fan works perfectly. Also check the fan is it working perfectly. If the fan is ok then you have to refill the freon gas again.
ok

I have a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. When the car is in idle the air blows out hot and the Temperature gage rises and the car over heats. When the car is moving the air blows out ice cold and the temperature...

Sounds like your cooling fans on the radiator are not working. The fans are activated by a thermol switch on the engine or radiator reading the coolant temperature and an A/C switch. When the coolant is too hot the fans should activate cooling the system down. And, when the A/C is on the fans should also activate in order to cool the condensate so the A/C would work.

When you are driving, the movement of the vehicle throught he air is providing enough air flow to keep things cool and functional.

I would check the radiator fan fuse or fuses first. If those are OK I would try to run the fans with 12 volts and a ground that I supply just to see if the fan motor(s) actually run when powered. If the fan don't run when powered then the fans are bad and will need to be replaced. If the fans do run when you power them manually, then something is not allowing the power to activate, like a relay, control unit, or wiring.

It will take a little diagnostics, but it is not too difficult to chase it down.

My car runs fine everythiing seems good, just had a new radiator put on it, but when my car sits running for awhile it starts to overheat, then i start to drive and it cools back down?. please help

Check the electric cooling fan. There will be a sensor on the engine to tell it to turn on. The electric motor itself may be defective, and lastly, there will be a fuse to power the motor. Also, if the engine has been running hot, it may have damaged the thermostat. But from your description, that doesn't seem likely. Hope this helps.

I have 2003 grand cherokee with 140000 miles that overheats at idle. as soon as i start moving again, the temp goes back to normal.

You have two fan's on your truck, 1 is a fan clutch runs with the drive belt, 2 elec fan motor, with test light and engine running at normal temp, just a little bit above 1/2 way on your temp gauge check voltage at elec. cooling fan harness if you have voltage at one of the two wire's and fan don't turn on, bad cooling fan motor, on the fan clutch after you check voltage at elec. fan motor turn engine off, with your hand spin drive belt fan if it spin's freely bad fan clutch, replace it.Also check cooling level.Hope this was very helpful

And
c:\windows>chkdsk /r/f
