Water leak under trailer, looks like box with water lines in and out? what is it called and is it replaceable?

Hi Rodney:
What kind of trailer? Like maybe an RV camper?
If so, it will be your water storage tank.
The seats should lift up so that you can access the tank and determine what the problem is.
Hope this helps.

Rv leaking water under neath

The statement is extremely vague. Is it a travel trailer or a motor coach? Motor coach could be dripping condensation from ac while in use. Is it fresh water and only leaks when connected to a hydrant? Does it only leak when sewage is dumped into the black water holding tank? In short, you must determine under what condition the unit is leaking. Then narrow down where it is leaking from and then identify the failed part. RV manufacturers do not publish plumbing diagrams so it is all visual in the diagnostic process.

Recently purchased a 4400W generator to operate travel trailer primarily and on occasion my ac unit. Connected the generator to the travel trailer, then ran the a/c, everything going well, then the circuit...

What size circuit breaker is on the generator that is tripping? You'll need a 20amp for AC alone, then consider other things that are drawing current when RV plugged in like , converter, fridge etc that may be drawing current at same time. Make sure fridge is on propane, as well as water heater if you have electric element option on water heater. AC may only draw 12-15 amps when running if good and clean and wired properly, but will draw 17-18 amps when compressor kicks in. Perhaps generator not designed for that surge?

Leaking at welded fitting on tank? can i jb weld around the fitting

Many have tried same, and only a few have been successful, and at best, only temporarily. Believe it or not, I had 3 do the exact same thing last year, corroded right through the meaty part of the fitting, where you would think would be the last place it would eat through. Being in the RV Service trade, I only want to have to fix it once, and don't want to be responsible for any future floods when away from unit so I replace the tank. I've seen some wild fixes over the years, such as a piece of thick rubber hose over the pinhole with a gear clamp (hose clamp) tightened over it to stop the leak, and it was actually working to stop the leak. Your choice, your gamble, but if you decide to try a quick fix, I'd make real sure I shut the pump or city water supply off when your not going to be close by or in the trailer for any amount of time just in case. Hate to come back from a walk and see water running out the door of the trailer. Good Luck.

Help. Just had seal replaced now water flows in rather than leak. Of course the place that did the repair is hundreds of miles away. How do I tighten seal?

It could be that the installer did not tighten the mounting bolts sufficiently to make a seal. Taking the cover off the unit inside the coach, you should be able to see four mounting bolts that are inserted through springs between their heads and the ac unit.

Those mounting bolts are what pulls the AC unit snug against the gasket. The instructions say not to overtighten them when you first install them because you need to leave space to tighten them later as the gasket ages and loses its "spring". The gasket also, over time, compresses under the weight of the AC sitting on the roof "bouncing" as you drive down the road, losing the seal.

So that you have room to tighten them later, the springs on those mounting bolts should not be compressed all the way. However the bolts also need to be snug enough initially to make the seal and not just barely threaded in. You should not compress the gasket more than 50% on initial install, but it should be compressed a bit.

Try tightening them a bit with a socket wrench (tighten all 4 to an equal depth), then spray the roof area around the AC with a garden hose to see if you still have the leak.

RV AC unit won't cool, blows chuncks of ice

It's most likely an airflow problem, you say you had the vents closed? Icing up is normally caused by lack of load (air flow) or loss of refrigerant charge. Make sure all your vents are open to allow for as much airflow as possible and that your filter is clean. Some units do not work well on low airflow setting when the outdoor temps cool down at night.

Locating owners manual for 5th wheel & factory appliances

You'll probably find that the actual owners manual for the trailer is just a generic one, that covers many trailers in the fleetwood line-up. I'm guessing your worried about the AC, microwave, water heater & fridge. Get make & model numbers off them & I'll see what I can come up with. As far as items in the trailer other than that or questions, feel free to get back to me with any, and I should be able to explain most if not all. I'll also keep my eyes open at work (RV dealership) for a manual of your year.
