If the gas is bad, The gas bowl needs to be removed and drained, it holds gas ready for the carb. disconnect the gas tube going into the bottom or bottom side of the gas tank. once it is drained, replace bowl, connect hose and re-fill. It may take a few tries, priming it first will reduce the pulling time. It shoots new gas straight to the carb.

Gas Hotpoint range says bad line. Is it safe to use for right now?? Is the gas bad or electric? I don't have money to fix it at the moment

if it is gas , then you have no option but to turn the gas off at the supply tap until you can afford a gas fitter to come and check the problem
if you continue to use it then the consequences could be you ceasing to exist form gas poisoning or an explosion

Why the pilot light on my gas water heater won't light?

  • Bad gas valve
    • More expensive of fix

  • Bad thermocouple
    • Less expensive of fix, try this first
    • It sits in the pilot burner assembly, right next to pilot flame. It senses the heat on the tip of the thermocouple and then generates just enough electricity to operate the heaters gas valve. It makes just under 1 volt, these are called MiliVolts.

  • No fuel?
    • Is there a shut off valve, did someone turn it off?

Gas in oil... I know this is bad. How bad?

Depends how much gas. Either way dump the engine oil and add fresh, but be sure to fix the original problem first. Gas thins the oil and causes excessive wear.

Hesating, Though I had bad gas, I was told that my first piston is miss fireing. How can I fix it?

You will first need to determine what is causing cylinder number one to missfire. Could be a clogged fuel injector, bad ignition wire, bad spark plug, burnt/bent/stuck valve, cracked cylinder head, bent push rod, collapsed lifter, flat cam shaft. I could keep going, point being there is no easy fix unless we start eliminating possible causes. You having bad gas I would lean more towards the injector or the spark plug.

My gas gausge doesnt work in my 89 gmc sierra. How

If all your other gauges work, more than likely you have a bad sending unit in the gas tank or bad ground to the sending unit.

Can not get pilot to stay on. will light while pushed and will not stay on when let go

First, if you have just installed the unit or have had the gas line off, it will take a few min's for the air in the gas line to be replaced with gas.
If it just started doing this, I would first clean the pilot and orifice. If this does not fix it, it can only be one of two things. A bad gas valve or a bad regulator. I think that you have a bad gas valve. The regulator very rarely goes bad.

Not working after fuel issue

First!.. Has anyone VERIFIED the cause as bad gas? Seems to me that is the first thing to be ruled out... ya think? Best solution: Once 'BAD GAS' is VERIFIED, empty the fuel tank and get RID of the bad gas. Then, purge the fuel lines of this 'BAD GAS'.. then see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then there's something else wrong.
