Question about Motorola Mobility L301 Cordless Phone

Two Motorola L301 telephones interfear

I recently installed two Motorola L301 telephones on my phone system. Note this is two L301 base stations each with one cordless telephones. Each phone has it's own extension (x130 & x131). Each phone works on its respective extension.
The problem I am having is that the phones seem to be interfearing with each other as the cordless phones can not call each other and only one cordless phone can be used at one time. In previous phones I could change the channel of the phone. The new DECT 6.0 does not seem to have that option.

I need a solution so both cordless phones can be used at the same time and to call each other.

Is there any other solution two my problem of the two L301 not working with each other. I called Motorola and they say that can't happen with DECT 6.0 technology. Apparently it can.

Hi,

first of all waves that alike always clash in the air. You are using a cordless phone that is the same make and the serial numbers are close to each other, Since is a cordless phone, the network are likely to jam.

What to do is this, if it is not long from the time you bought the phone or it has guarantee on it, go change it to another type of cordless phone and their serial numbers are different and not close to each other.

After doing that, you can use two different cordless phones together in the same place.

Take care.

Thank you for choosing Fixya.

Unfortunately, 'changing channels' is a feature that has been phased out. Today's phones are not supposed to interfere with each other, but in practice they do.

Additionally, for this model you must choose between the two handsets being used concurrently, or being able to page/call each other. If both handsets are paired to on base station, they will be able to call each other but can use only one phone line. A multi-line cordless phone is what you would require in order to be able to call each other plus call out on separate telephone line.

I hope that helps.

HOW DO I DEREGISTER MY BASE STATION?

If you want to replace a handset or re-assign the designated handset number of a registered handset, you must de-register all the handsets and then individually register each handset.
To de-register all handsets:
Press and hold
FIND HANDSET
on the telephone base for about 10
seconds (until the IN USE light on the telephone base turns on and starts to flash), then release FIND HANDSET
.
Press and release
FIND HANDSET again. (You must press FIND HANDSET
while the IN USE light is still flashing. The IN USE light flashes for
approximately seven seconds.)
All system handsets show
CONNECTING...
The de-registration process
takes about 10 seconds to complete. All handsets show
NOT REGISTERED
when the de-registration completes.
If de-registration fails, you might need to reset the telephone and try again.
To reset:
Pick up the registered handset and then press
/FLASH
.
Press
OFF/CLEAR
and place the handset back in the telephone base.
-OR-
Unplug the power from the telephone base, then plug it back in.
note:
You cannot de-register a handset if any system handset is in use.

After de-registering, proceed with registering process:
If the handset screen does not show LOW BATTERY
or HANDSET X, you will need to charge the handset for at least five minutes before registering to the telephone base.
To register a handset:
Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base or charger. If
PRESS FIND HS 4 SEC ON BASE
does not appear on the handset screen after a few seconds, remove the handset and place it in the telephone base or charger again.
On the telephone base, press and hold
FIND HANDSET
for about four seconds (until the red IN USE light on the telephone base turns on) and then release the button. The handset shows
PLEASE WAIT...
and it takes about 10 seconds to complete the registration. The handset shows
HANDSET X REGISTERED
(X represents the handset number assigned)
and you hear a beep when the registration completes.

The caller id on my vtech cordless phone stopped coming in clearly, why?

Try unplugging your base station (where the power and the telephone cable plugs into) leaving it unplugged, get your telephone set and take out the battery.

Put the battery back in your phone and power up your phone.
When the phone is back up and running, plug everything back into the base station... and test your caller id.

The telephone's base station sometimes needs a reboot. There are power spikes on the telephone line every-so-often and can do funny things to your telephone set.

I hope this helps.

My Motorola MA580 sometimes work and others don´t

It sounds as if the channel that the phone and base has selected during that session is bad, or being used by another system in the area. When that happens, try selecting another channel. You should be able to do this by depressing a button on the handset. Normally labeled "Channel". Please post further questions or comments. Please rate this solution through fix-it. Thank you
