Raymarine Raychart 520 Interface to PC

I'm trying to send waypoint from my PC to my Raymarine RC 520. I've tried using SeaClear to send the NEMA 183 "WPL" sentence to my Raymarine E85001 interface connected to the SeaTalk network.

Using the SeaClear's NEMA output monitor I see the sentences going out. I see the NEMA indicator light come on in the E85001 interface (the SeaTalk indicator light is also on). I select "receive waypoint ST/NEMA on the RC 520 but the waypoints don't show up on the waypoint list.
I'm receiving NEMA data in SeClear through the E85001 interface - wind data, depth, GPS. I've tried to send waypoint data from the RC 520 but haven't seen it come into SeaClear on the PC.

I can send WPL from SeaClear to my hand held Garmin using NEMA so I sure SeaClear and the USB to serial device is working.

I've read the RC 520 manual I don't see any special setup for receiving/sending waypoint. I'm selecting the "softkey" menu items to Send/Receive so I don't understand why they don't show up on the RC 520.

I could run a NEMA data cable from the PC to the RC 520 but SeaTalk is there already and based on everything I can find it should work.

Has anyone made this same type of connection? Was there anything special in making it work?

I'd appreciate any troubleshooting tips.

You will need to hook up direct. Seatalk wont handle a waypoint download, but the chartplotter will accept the data directly into the NMEA in port. All other data, like wind depth and latlon are handled by seatalk

How do I connect my garmin 741sx with my raymarine St 4000 with nmea 183

To connect your Garmin 741sx with your Raymarine ST 4000 using NMEA 183, you will need an NMEA 0183 interface cable to connect the two devices. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Obtain an NMEA 0183 interface cable that has the correct connectors for your Garmin 741sx and Raymarine ST 4000.
  2. Connect one end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA output of your Garmin 741sx.
  3. Connect the other end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA input of your Raymarine ST 4000.
  4. Configure your Garmin 741sx to output NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Garmin 741sx manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA output.
  5. Configure your Raymarine ST 4000 to receive NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Raymarine ST 4000 manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA input.
  6. Once both devices are configured, the data from the Garmin 741sx should be transmitted to the Raymarine ST 4000 via the NMEA 0183 interface cable.

How do i replace the internal battery on my raychart 425 chartplotter

Found the replacement batteries thru Allied Electronics on the web! The replacement is a Panasonic # CR2032-1HF. Raymarine said the unit was "too old and the battery was no longer available", so, went on my own search. Good Luck!

I am having problems getting started. Thought i

Unfortunately the Raymarine A60 does not have the automatic route feature built into the unit. You would have to create a route if you were planning a long trip. A route is a collection of waypoints that are linked together. Each time you reach a waypoint the A60 will notify you of the arrival and move on to the next waypoint.

Connect an raymarine E120 Display to the RNS software in a PC

Try a cross over network cable from the PC to the E-Series. Raymarine Made each one of their cables as a straight cable so you would need to buy the cross over coupler or network switch box to use it with another unit. It's nothing different from normal networking with the exception that they have removed wires 4,5,7 & 8 from the cable and it's a straight. Give that a try.

How to interface a furuno 1833c navnet to a usb port and how to download waypoints to my pc.I have the older 9 pin pc cable and a usb adapter cable.Looking for usb drivers and software to make it work.

The display uses a serial interface, otherwise known as a comm port. You can get a USB to DB9 adaptor practically anywhere. Once you have a serial connection, you will need software such as MaxSea to send the waypoint with.

Raymarine st8002 wired to furuno

The st8002 is not compatble with rs232 data. You need to supply it with nmea 0183 data. You will need to wire it to the "NMEA port IN" on the pilot to NMEA out on your Furuno and turn on the mnea sentances "out" on your Furuno. You will need to turn on at least the following sentances GGA GLL RMB RMC.Hope that helps.

Display position on PC

Hi miguel09,

You could try SeaClear It's free and runs not only on Windows systems but also on Linux with Wine. If you want to upload routes and waypoints then you can use this software from Furuno.

Best Regards
