I want to know the Jumper settings (Master and Slave) for IBM Travelstar 15 GB Hard drive. I would be glad and thankful if you will solve this problem for me. Ari Kiviharju

This solution will reference the picture below:
To configure the drive in Master mode, no jumper setting is used (Figure A1).
To configure the drive in Slave mode, the jumper must be placed over the two vertical pins on the far right (Figure A2).
To configure the drive in Cable Select mode, the jumper must be placed over the two pins in the bottom row (Figure A3)

Hello! I have a Floppy Drive FD-235HG-C332 manufacturer TEAC. I want to know what data capacity (Operations modes) has my device: 720Kb, or 1Mb, or 1,44Mb, or 1,6Mb, or 2Mb. There are jampers, placed...

Your TEAC FDD (floppy disk drive) is a Tri-mode device (720 KB, 1.2 MB, and 1.44MB)

The "235" part of the model number indicates the drive's form factor (size) is 3.5 inches.
The "HG" part of the model number indicates that the FDD is a Tri-mode device, with the 3 modes
given above.

The manufacturer notes that it has no jumpers, but every FDD I've ever seen has jumpers for
bus master/slave selection. Either master or slave will work.

Here's the manufacturer's web site URL for your TEAC floppy disk drive:
http://www.teac.com/DSPD/support/floppy_drives/fd235hg_id_your_drive.htm

Here's the info on the NEC FD 1137C drive:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Enclosure Type Internal
Interface Floppy (IDC)
Platform: PC
Technical Features Capacity 1.44 MB,2.8MB,360MB,720KB,1MB,640KB
Minimum System Requirements:
Operating System Microsoft DOS • Microsoft Windows 3.1 • Microsoft Windows 95 • Microsoft Windows NT
Form Factor: 3.5" floppy disk drive

Here's the best info I found on your NEC FD 1137C Floppy disk drive:

How to set NEC NR 7800A as the master

the First thing you need to do is make sure the jumpers on the back of the drives are set ,one to slave and one to master. there will be a mark either on the case by the jumpers or on a label on the drive. On systems I build
I set the top one to master and bottom one to slave. It makes it easier to hook up the cable to them. The end of the cable goes to the top one and
the other one to the slave.

there are BIOS flash available for the laptop, (www.nec-driver.com) download the required Bios Update for your Laptop (based on the model number). this should fix the password problem. second option is to remove the Bios battery but since it is a notebook, not recommended. :)

I would like to make this a slave so that my 500 GB PATA HardDrive will be the master as that has my operating system and the Plextor PX-716A drive will be the slave?

You need to configure the jumper at the back of the drive as shown in the following picture

How do you set a samsung ide hd to master mode

To set a Hard Disk to master mode is quite simple. On the side of the Hard Disk that has the power hook-up and data hook-up, there is also a small section of usually about 8 little prongs, and you'll see something that looks like somebody stuck something on those prongs. It is called a jumper, and it can put the hard disk in various states such as Master, Slave, Cable Select, and more. You usually cant use a hard drive without a jumper, so don't lose it. On either the top or bottom of the HD, there should be various information about the HD. You should also see a diagram of about 8 squares, just like the 8 prongs next to the power and data connections on the HD. Find the one for Single or Master, switch the jumper to the position it tells you to, and you'll be all set!
