Hello,

you have to turn off Num Lock.

NumLock is on the same button as scroll lock however you have to first press and hold "Fn" (left-bottom corner) and then press NumLock/Scroll Lock or hold "Shift" and then press NumLock/Scroll Lock or hold.

Leave rate if I helped you, thanks!!

Cheers,
Mike

Examine your keyboard to ensure your "Number Lock" key is not activated.

This activation is indicated by the key being lit up.

If the key is activated, press it to deactivate the lock.

The number lock key will deactivate an entire segment of your keyboard

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

In the registry, open the below folders.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Control Panel\
Keyboard\

Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Below is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.

Hye mr expert...Here i have some question about my samsung netbook n220 series. For your info...actually this problem never happen before. The problem is some of my key not working & some of my key...

Hi,

The problem with your Netbook seems to be that you have turned "NUMBER LOCK" or "NUM LOCK" on. This causes some of the letter keys, e.g U,I,O,J,K,L,M to be printed as numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6.

To turn this off, hold down the "FN" key (near the bottom left of the keypad) and then press "F11" and then release both keys.

Please try this and post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Why did the subscript numbers of the keyboard are entered instead of letters? how can i change it?

This can happen if the Fn (function key) is held down while the scroll key (number lock) is pressed. Try holding the Fn key down and press the scroll key to see if the letters free up.

Hi, I've got 2 eeepcs, with identical problems,

When the RH side of the keboard types numbers instead of letters then the Num Lock (number lock) key has been pressed.
Press the Num Lock Key again to return to letters again, usually this is usually done by pressing the Fn key plus and probably the Scroll keys, this key will be also marked NumLk, and there will be a LED light that will indicate when the number lock is on.

How do you change the text message settings to TAP instead of Abc

How to set up Text Entry Mode?
1. From any text entry screen (ie. when you are writing a text message), press the top center button, the one above the directional wheel.
2. Press on "Entry SetUp"
3. Select the "Primary Set Up" or "Secondary Setup" by choosing your preferred input mode among the ones below. Us the wheel by pressing on the right arrow to change mode:
  • ITAP: it's a built-in software which predicts the word you are typing.
  • TAP: enter individual letters and numbers by pressing the keys multiple times. Ie. for the letter "F" press the number 3 button three times.
  • Tap Extended: enter individual letters, numbers and symbols by pressing the keys multiple times
