Ok, this is caused by a bad HDD, what happens is it gets a bad "Read" and it cannot recover, the error so it throws up that error message. You should replace your HDD, it is an easy job, Or Panasonic will repair ANY problem for around $140.00.
Try holding the Channel Up and Down buttons on the unit at the same time. If you can get it to reset, set your clock manually and turn DST OFF.

I have a 4 year old Bosch Ecologixx 7 self cleaning condenser dryer, WTW86561GB/02. The problem is after 10 minutes the machine just switches off, and the display panel goes dark

sounds like the thermal safety overload is cutting the power due to overheating hence why it just turns back on after a certain time, when the safety overload reaches a certain temperature it will cut the power to the machine or in some cases just the heating elements, once it cools down it resets and power is restored and by using the warm setting it obviously isn't as hot so its not overheating, its highly likely it is all blocked up internally with lint (i know it says self cleaning but they never work for more than a few years before requiring a proper clean and service)

Air conditioner cools for 30 minutes then stops cooling after 20 minutes starts cooling again what is likely problem

The compressor motor is over heating and thermal protection shuts it down , when it cools down it restarts. Restricted air flow over the cooling coils could be the cause. Check filter,Sometimes furniture or other things block the return air vent.

Hallo, I'm new here, I hope someone can help me with my problem. I have a Panasonic DMR-HS2 DVD recorder, and I've had no problems yet, till recently. I had programmed several TV programs. W

It might well have crashed!
I suggest you unplug or turn off the power to the unit and leave it off for a while to see if it corrects itself when you power up again.
Keep a look out for any codes in the display when it powers up. Was there a disc in the drive when you shut it down? That might be contributing to the problem if there is.
If the hard drive has failed it still might be possible to remove it and recover the contents, before fitting a new one. There are the same ones you buy for home PC's afterall.

Just purchased a 94 Sunbird SE for my son (today) Started fine. Drove for 15 minutes. Shut it down and it sat for 1 hr. Started again after registration and insurance. Drove for 10 minutes. Stopped once...

Take it back to where you got it and make them refund your purchase price. If they refuse and you finianced it go to them, There a law called "The Lemon Law" that makes it unlawful to sell something like that. Sounds like you sure bought one. Don't do anything to it just get hold of the place where you bought it and tell them to come get their junk out of your yard! dhgill1949

Hello again Dan

I repair these, but I have not seen this particular fault before.

However, you mention that you used to be able to leave it for an hour and it would then work. This means the unit was having difficulty in initialising.

There is a very common fault with this model where a power board regulator overheats and fails. This causes the machine to go into a self checking cycle. It will say "Self Check" on the display and if you leave it, the machine will often eventually work.

The regulator fails from about two years onwards, with various symptoms gradually getting worse until the unit packs up completely.

I can send you the full repair details if you want them, but you would have to be able to use a soldering iron and be confident in your own ability to disassemble and tackle a job like this. Or you may know someone who could repair it, if given the full details.

It should be an easy fix, so it would be a pity to write it off for such a fault.

Best wishes...

A self-check for these models can sometimes last for 3-7min's (sometimes longer) depending on how much recorded data is on your hard drive. Plus it checks all unrecorded space on your hard drive as well. Don't forget that it must check 200Gig. If it self checks for longer than 20-30mins turn off at the wall and let cool down. Try again in an hour or so and it should rectify itself. If it continues to self-check for longer than 20-30mins refer your machine to an authorized technition
