Nls error

Step 1:
Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen. Select the option for Safe mode command prompt only Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option: Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice. Select safe mode with command prompt then type in chkdsk/f/r which will scan for and and attempt repair of bad files and bad sectors on hard drive You should have no input while chkdsk utility is in progress any input might further damage your computer also Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue and then replace the file. Type the following command and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

How do i adjust the contrast on my acer aspire 5738z laptop

@tonymclau330

Try the following:

For Windows Vista / 7
1. Press the Fn+Left Arrow Key for brightness down and Fn+Right Arrow Key for brightness up (the Fn key is located at the left side of the space bar)
2. If that won't work, go to Start > type Power Options and click on the Power options icon.

Factory reset without using a disk and ALT + F10 doesnt work

his MIGHT work:

1. Click "Start," "Turn Off Computer" and then "Restart", if it is on. If your computer is off, turn it on by pressing the power button above the keyboard.
2. Press the "F2" function key on your computer's keyboard to enter the BIOS utility.
3. Use the laptop's right arrow key to scroll to "Main." Confirm that the "D2D Recovery" is "Enabled." If the D2D option is "Disabled," scroll down to the option using the down arrow key. Press "Enter" to change the option to "Enabled."
4. Use the laptop's right arrow key to scroll to "Exit." The "Exit Saving Changes" option will be highlighted. Press "Enter" to save the settings and exit the BIOS utility. Your Acer Aspire will restart.

Acer 5536 boots up goes to screen to select safe mode, tried both modes but after the selection screen goes blank with a little loading circle but goe sno further, no log in screen or anything, please help

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.

Acer Aspire 5315 Vista Windows boot problem

have you checked if your pc is compatible with win7? use this to check it: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
and if it is, try to do a clean install. boot from the cd. insert the disc. restart pc, as soon as it has power, press F12 several times and highlight cd/dvd drive or ODD using your arrow keys then press enter. it will load the cd from there. And that should work fine.

ACER LAPTOP NOT STARTING

Try to reinstall windows overwriting the previous installation so that all your data, files and programs will not be deleted. If you have your windows installation cd, insert it to the cd/dvd drive and start/restart your laptop. It then detects the installer and scans your computer. Just follow the on-screen instructions. But during setup, do not choose the "Repair Mode" instead choose "New Install". Now when attempting to install, then system will detect your previous windows installation so there highlight (using the arrow keys) choose "Repair Previous Installation". When you do this, all windows system files will be replaced but all programs and personal files will be in tact.

Windows vista wont boot!

could be 2 things either your bios or your cd is dirty.
Turn the cd upside down so the silver side is facing you
Put the cd near a light and see if there is anything on it and wash it off and dry it off before you use it
Also while you are at it check to see if there is a deep scratch the problem with cd and dvd drivers is the eye get stuck even on finger prints they are so touchy same as dust ect.
If you need to get into the bios make sure the first boot is your cd or dvd drive.
you will need to press the <F2> key during POST (Power On Self Test) to enter the Acer BIOS setup.
Then you use the arrows to move through each menu.
When you get to the boot options menu highlight it.
Then hit the enter button first one should be dvd or cd drive second one should be either HDD1 or HDD0
On the bottom of the bios page it will show how to do the changes
and how to save them then it will go back to the original screen
that you were first at now hit the arrow key to the last menu and hit save and exit it will ask you if you are sure hit the key Y
that should do it.
Happy Holidays
