Question about Emerson Audio Players & Recorders

Emerson Dual CD Audio System CD stops playing

The CD player on my Emerson ES17 will play 1 or 2 tracks on a CD and then the power will shut-off and will restart the CD a couple of times and it will show it has no disc.

I tried this today and it didn't do anything different, when you first turn on the CD it will play 1, 2 or 3 tracks and the power will shutoff and after a few seconds it will come back on and play a few seconds and the power will go off again, it will do this as long as you leave it on turned on.

Hi,

This is a Common Problem with Lens. Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 30 minutes and then Turn it ON.

If problem persists, then you could try to use a Lens Cleaner CD. More often that would work. Unless you need to either Replace Lens or there is a Fault in Electronic Circuit Board.

Both of these would need unit to be Opened and Repaired. If you wish to Repair it, Revert and i would be able to Guide you.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Is having trouble reading or tracking disc.I opened top and while playing disc the tracking mechanism goes out then back in and starts playing where it stopped?

You can clean the lens with a small amount of windex and put a little oil like 3 and 1 oil on the spindle motor shaft and on the sled rails. Good luck !

Could it have been knocked when in storage? Also try cleaning the lens of the CD player see if that makes a difference.

Emerson ms3105 won't play cd's wont even spin

kungfuz...I have had two of these emerson cd players. One is in my home and is still working after 3 1/2 years. The other was purchased for our church just over a year ago and it has stopped working. The disks will turn a little then stop. Occasionally it will still play a complete hymn but this is rare. Also a grinding sound can be heard with the ear close to the unit. I think when you pushed the combo of buttons and it stopped working, this is likely just a fluke and it was probably going bad anyway. I may be wrong but I have been down this road myself and your problem sounds very similar to mine. I can't offer you much encouragement...sorry...!

CD playing erratic

Run a "Laser Lens Cleaner" thru the unit a couple times. Use one that takes fluid, you can find them at just about any retail store for 15-20. If that doesn't solve it, it needs to be repaired. At that point weigh the cost over replacement. A new transport usually will cost 100-150 on average for parts and labor. Hope this helps

CD player does not work

10/6/08 Update.
Solved the problem myself.
Repositioned the printed circuit board with the CD Drawer open/close limit switch.
I suspect that the board shifted during shipping and failed to trigger the closed drawer position.
Player is now working.

CD's won't play

I know that Panasonic provides chips, optics (laser),etc. to Emerson. I am familiar with the problem you've experienced because I've had a Panasonic CD Player. If the disc doesn't spin (as you said), the problem must be that your shelf system probably has an optical problem (laser problem/pickup problem) and will need to be serviced.
