Question about Sony KDL-46W5100 TV

Severe color banding and color shifting for skin / hair tones

My KDL-46W5100 shows excellent pictures from all inputs, except for mid to dark hair, flesh and wood tones. In these cases I get severe color banding and color shifting towards amber and green. Very high brightness and low contrast values make the problem go away, but the resulting image is quite whitish and pale. Do I have a defective set, or this is the expected behavior? Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks, but I did it like you said but nothing changed. The image seems to shift all dark skin and wood tones towards green and reddish brown when brightness is set to low and contrast is high.

I have a client we have bleached her hair twice but still have a gold band in the middle I do not want to hydrolize her hair any more what do I do to get it all to the the same color without damaging it...

You can either color the whole head a darker blonde or try and tone the gold band with a violet toner. Depending on how gold the band is and the color of the remaining hair, I would recommend using Redken Shades EQ in 9V. You will have to watch it closely in the shampoo bowl to make sure to get it just right and not over tone the rest of the hair.

What is the best skin & hair tone for laser?

The best skin and hair combination will be people with darker hair and lighter skin. It's the color contrast that is mosly important. The laser energy is light, and light absorbed better by dark objects.

If the hair is light (blond) and the skin is dark (tanned), the light will not be absorbed at the hair follicle, but rather by the skin melanin, causing a burning of the skin, and damaging the melanin production in the skin cells. That's why white and gray hair, which contain no pigment, are not effectively treated by laser.

Sony klv-40w400a has a strange green tone

Okay would love to help you with this issue but most good reults if you choose to chat with me! The prblem with these color changes are most have to due with the aparatus your connecting to the Tv and not the Tv itself. But if you got it on all things its a decoder issue have the tech check the decoder. You will be glad you did.

Please rate.

Hello Fixya, Thanks for being available in the Net!!! I have a mitsubishi tv model #ws-55809 and the picture is funky.... It's like it's cartooned. The words are fuzzy a bit and so is the skin...

Sounds like a loss of picture resolution. There is a circuit board in your TV that determines the type of signal (HD or standard definition) The video signal (picture signal) is routed thru this board. Call a local Mitsubishi servicer and get a price on replacement. It may cost more than its worth.

Indoor photos are too dark and skin tones orange-ish

I have the same problem at my church with the indoor lighting on my camera. I'm able to get it work by putting the whole thing on manual and adjusting the lighting settings that way.
