I have a Ricoh digital camera and it has stopped working when I try to load the pics on the camera onto my laptop. Always worked fine before. Any ideas?

Hello

A somewhat better method for transferring pictures is to use a card reader on the computer, take the card out from the camera, put it on the card reader and plug it to the computer.

the card will show up under my computer or computer folder as a removable storage device, you can find the pictures inside, and copy them to the computer, easily.

There may be a few folders inside the card, you will find the pictures eventually inside.

Then you can copy the folder to the computer where ever you wish. just right click on the folder icon and select Copy, then go on to the computer, right click, paste.

takes a few seconds up to a minute and all the pictures will now be on the computer, if you did it properly.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I'm getting error message when importing photos - photos look fine on the camera viewer but for some reason they will not import onto my computer. i have used the same program for all my other pics...

Stop trying to use the program you always use. Instead, get a card reader (they're inexpensive) and use it to download to a folder you create on the desktop. From there, you can send the pics to your favorite program.

Upload pictures onto laptop- way too big

This is a 12.1MP camera...if you have it set to take pictures that large, then the files will be huge...too big for the internet. You have to downsize them first...that's perfectly normal. You could set the camera to take lower quality pics, but if you come across one you would like to enlarge, it won't turn out very well. Why not continue the procedure you now use if it's working for you.

Hi mvb08:
Try to re-install the programs and drivers for the camera.

You can also use a card reader, then download from the card reader. That way you do not need any drivers, nor does that camera have to be hooked to the computer.
