How can I diagnose, isolate and repair my Amana, NED7200TW dryer it runs but will not heat?

Since you say it happened gradually seems like it's not the heating element. If that's functioning properly you should see the orange glow inside the dryer when running. If your dryer does not have a glass door you can keep the dryer running by holding the button in. Look on the door, at some point you should see something that makes contact and pushes a switch on the frame. You can trick it by manually closing the switch. Be careful. I would suspect the trouble is a clogged lint exhaust. Over time this will fill with lint preventing the moist air to escape. This is how the dryer works. The hot wet air in the drum needs to vent outside to dry the clothes. When this becomes clogged you have nowhere for the moisture to go. So it stays in the drum and runs and runs without drying clothes. Also make sure you clean out the lint trap after each use. Clean the entire vent path. Also make sure you are venting outside. If not, you are just recirculating wet moist air back into the dryer. When working properly, you should feel a good flow of warm wet air at the outside vent. If not there is still a clog. Good luck.

Roper Dryer RED4440SQ0 TOO MUCH HEAT

T'he glow you saw was on the back wall in the dryer behind the a grated area if I'm correct. What you saw was the heating element, or a reflection of it while it was on. The element glows bright red when power is being applied to it to function and is housing is made of sheet metal so it does carry a reflective quality. If you really want to make sure that the dryer isn't over heating, which I don't believe it is due to the fact that would mean the high limit thermostat has failed in a way that I've never really seen, take the vent off the back and using a digital thermometer check to see how high it gets before the machine cycles off and the temperature drops.

I have an Amana gas dryer that doesn't ignite.

The most common failure when the igniter glows yet DOES NOT GO OFF followed by the flame is a defective flame sersor
this is what the flame sensor looks likeoldtech2332_46.jpgIt is attached to the outside of the burner tube,
Their are basically 2 types of those,1 that attaches to right side of burner cone and 1 that attaches to order correct one what ya need is the model number which is typically on a label on the inside of the door on the rim of the drum opening

Just to be sure before replacing it,is that what your experiencing..that the igniter glows yet does not go off? if yes that pretty much sums up what your experiencing go ahead replace that flame switch.

If igniter do go off but no flame the problem will be with the gas valve coils

Our Whirlpool Model LGR4634JQ0 will not heat up. I took the peep hole cover off and watched as I turned the gas dryer on (high heat). The chamber heats up and glows bright orange for maybe 15-20 seconds...

You're a good detective! Gas dryers have an ignition panel (what you saw glowing bright orange) that heats until it reaches a certain temperature. This temperature will cause the gas from the pilot to ignite and the dryer will run, staying at a constant temperature and thereby drying your clothes. It sounds as it your ignition panel needs to be replaced. It is a relatively simple process if you are comfortable making repairs. If you aren't, I suggest calling a repair professional. We did this a num ber of years ago. The repair service was reasonably priced and our dryer worked for another 6 years!
Good luck. If this works, please return to Fixya and rate my advice!

No heat/ heating element needs replacement!! How do u replace!! I looked at a video, but the dryer i saw wasnt like mine!!

Is it possible the dryer vent that runs from the dryer to the outside of the house is clogged with lint. This happens to us. Just thought I would suggest this, in case you weren't sure if it was the heating element or not. Good luck!

Stihl saw 026 runs 5-10 min won't stay running and backfires

5 to 10 minutes is a long time and the 026 is a fairly old saw. If it is running 5 to 10 minutes and not 5 to 10 seconds, you probably just have a worn engine. Clean the saw inside very thououghlr and try Amoco white gas. You should be able to reduct the heating and get more run time. A carb rebuild might also help some but in hot weather it is not unusual for chain saws to vapor lock.

DRSR483GD2WW runs but has no heat. Vent was cloged. removed clog. Looked under dryer to see if ignighter? was working. saw no glow

it could have overheated already due to a clogged vent and has tripped off the high heat limit switch which once open, will need to be replaced.

please check you wiring diagram for its location, it could be tested with an ordinary vom meter. it should have continuity.
