Question about Acer Aspire 5100-5033 Notebook
I have an Acer Aspire 5100 with a Atheros AR5007EG wireless lan card that randomly decides to stop working and even totally removes itself from the device manager menu. Only to (maybe) work again next time i turn it on.
Wireless worked flawlessly for about the first 6 months, Then it started this random vanishing act. Along with the vanishing of the wireless adapter, I also experience an unusually high amount of internet slowdowns and total drops while it is working.
system restore can sometimes make it turn on (most of the time it does, actually), but it should be obvious that having to hit up system restore every time i need to connect to the internet is a very bad solution.
I am reasonably skilled with computers, so any advice you can offer will help, as i have exhausted every idea i could come up with (short of sending it back to the manufacturer for a repair that will probably cost more than the current value of the whole machine.)
Update driver on wireless card make sure computer is connected via an ethernet cable not wirelessly when doing it

Have you tried uninstalling the device and the reinstalling it through new hardware wizard in control panel?
