- i have tried to find a volume control and a wireless button (like on my other laptop) and there isnt one .(if there is, then it is invisible or hidden mi5 style)
it appears that the volume control is on the keyboard . you press fn key then f3 and f4. and the same for the internet press fn then press f1 key or both together at same time none of which seem to work.
any more suggestions would still be appreciated

Somewhere on the laptop should be a button to switch wifi on and off. Most time near the volume controls... Have you put that one on?

- According to the packard bell website, the Fn+F1 combination switches the wireless. S
You are sure you have the latest driver from packard bell? Just to make sure... ;-) Try to find your wireless card in the device manager under 'Network adapters'. If it is there, check properties if it is working correctly. Then look in Control Panel > Network Connections to findif there is an icon for your wireless card... If it is, what is the status? Also you could go to: Start > Run Type "cmd" and press OK You'll get a black command box. type "ipconfig /all" without the quotation marks and press enter Post the Ip-address and default-gateway if it is shown
