Most printers do not come with a USB cable.
They cost about $25-$30 at an electronics retailer.

The part the connects to your computer will be squared on one end and rounded on the other. The rectagular flat end will connect to port usually on back of computer.

Here is a picture of what the ends look like.

Make sure you run the software that came with printer before connecting the cable. Software will tell you when to connect cable.

Hope this helps!

My emachines hardrive keeps shutting down. It gets to the point were it says windows now loading but then it turns off. This goes on and on

Without knowing your computer knowledge, I would have to say that you should try the drive in another computer. this will give you some indication of the health of your HDD. If it works in the new location you should run a Virus/Malware scan on the drive. (Do this while still in the new location). Good luck- Hard drives are expensive at the moment.

Try to reset your printer it might fixed your problems:
To reset your device do the following steps.

While the printer is on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer, wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
If the printer is not already on, turn it on by pushing the power button.
Try printing again. I think it will help you.

Thanks

I have just been bought a Canon MP600 printer. I thought I follwed al of the instructions correctly. It is installed on my Computer and I have put in the ink artridges but there is still a message on the...

Ink cartridges and print heads are 2 different things.

A print head is the part on the printer that the ink snaps into. On most canon printers this part is removable.

What I would do is take the ink out and then that piece that they snap into that moves across the page, look and see if that piece removes. (normally they have a release button or lever) If it does just take it out and put it back in as sometimes the computer chips don't make a good contact and the printer just doesn't know it's there. Make sure there isn't any little piece of plastic covering the chips. They like to ship them that way.

Try that and if it doesn't help I would pack up the printer and go exchange it seeing as you just purchased it. 90% of the time just taking the print head out and putting it back in will fix your problem for you. The other 10% of the time you just have a defective head.

Hope this helps, let me know

Hi, My family recently purchased a Brother MFC-210 and brought it home thinking you could hook it up with a USB cord. To our surprisement, no USB slot was on the printer and could only be hooked up with a...

You need to use a category 5 Ethernet cable, not a standard phone cord. A Cat5 cable has 8 wires, where a phone cord only has 4. Surprising that you got anything to print. Look at the connector to verify that it has 8 connecting pins. It is also wider than a phone connector plug. You need to plug the printer into a Ethernet Hub or Switch which in turn connects to your ethernet (network) card or port on the computer. It will most likely not work if you plug it directly into your computer.

There's quite a variety of USB switches out there. Just go to Goggle and type in USB Printer Switch and pick the one you think best suites your needs.

Don't forget to buy cables...

Hope that helps...

I bought a lexmark z645 it dos`nt have the cable wire that hooks the printer to the computer

You need to buy a standard usb cable to connect your printer. Once you got it connect the square shaped end to the printer and the rectangular one to the computer.

cheers

Ok if your printer is usb, then you need to install the software FIRST before plugging the printer into the computer via usb.

Gotot this website

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=232&modelid=8739

On the right it will say what OS do you have. Select your operating system. DOwnload the driver for the printer. Prolly the first one displayed, then download the driver. Install it. Restart your computer, then plug the printer into your computer via usb. I hope this helps. If not please contact me so i can help you further!!! Let me know how it goes!!
